TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! A WARM WEATHER RECALL MOVE AGAINST MAYOR FUNKY COMING SOON!?!!

In the middle of a budget crisis Mayor Funky is still more concerned with the future of his wife's feet at City Hall than anything else.

I don't think it's too much of an exaggeration to note that there will NEVER be a better time to remove Mayor Funky than right now.

To wit, people way smarter than me are waiting for the weather to get warmer and putting together a far more serious recall effort against Mayor Funky than anything I've seen thus far . . . In fact, I don't think I'm invited to the first meeting of the group which takes place sometime next week at the Flea Market (I think). That's right, it's so close to Valentine's Day and now a group of KC Folks just might be getting together in order to share their lack of love for the CO-Mayors.

This isn't the only move against Mayor Funky in the works, it's just the most direct and interesting to me. There is a definite risk to this operation given that Mayor Funky beating it (hehe) could reinvigorate Funkhouser's Administration in much the same light rail would have . . . Still, there's no doubt that the challenges to Mayor Funky have grown more extreme and this time around and now they don't have anything to do with a dumbass blog (like this one) but instead come from people who actually have two dimes to put together and have kept close track of the Mayor's many failures.

  1. Unless you're a political consultant looking for a paycheck between election cycles, why do it?

It will just make Skaggs or (worse) potentially Sharp mayor, correct? I believe when you get past the halfway point (or something like that) there isn't an election for a new mayor on the recall ballot - the Mayor Pro-tem takes over. Isn't that correct?

regardless of that, what do you really accomplish by losing the mayor for the last 18 months of his term? Why spend the money to create a temporary mayor?

Funkhouser is clearly the worst mayor in KC History, but I have to think the people driving it can spend their money, on, say, on the next mayoral race?

Plus it still is a high risk venture - a recall. It's hard to recall a mayor for being a total moron.

Methinks this is a revenue enhancement scheme from Pat Gray et al.

Unless someone can establish a credible cost-benefit.

  2. If the bastard is recalled then the hell gates of Burke, Riederer, etc open. If the freak is tossed out with less than 18 months on his one and only term, I bet he puts Sharon Brooks' lazy ass in as mayor pro tem. Any way you slice it, we continue to get screwed.
I vote for the recall because I can not stand giving tax dollars to funk idiot.

  3. try2, second that motion.

A recall takes the spotlight off the shenanagins of Cauthen and City Council.

Let them wither on the vine in their irrelevance.

  5. This rumor is probably started by Funkee himself. A victory in a recall election gives him the appearance of strength right before the next election. That drives away the competition and potentially helps him to raise money.
Either way, I will vote to recall his ass.

  6. I want to see the Orange Revolution end in an orange jumpsuit.

File a written complaint about the violation of the nepotism law by Funky with Attorney General Chris Koster.

  7. Where is Clay Chastain when we need him. Give him a couple hundred dollars and some Star publicity and he will have it ready in a couple of weeks. Done --no more talking about it.
