Smart with the Money? Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser wants to pay "Community Organizers" 75k for 6 months of work!!!
During a global recession . . . Mayor Funky's screwed up priorities are finally starting to come to light . . .
Not too long ago . . . TKC announced that Mayor Funky's "New Tools" program was nothing more than political patronage.
The Kansas City Post actually did some research and discovered that Mayor Funky considered the 50k originally proposed to pay to "community organizers" in order bolster business in blighted areas - a "very small" amount of money.
Like everything else . . . The price went up.
In a damn fine article . . . DeAnn Smith notes:
Funkhouser originally unveiled this (New Tools) program last year. He reiterated Sunday the need for city-hired community organizers to go door-to-door in distressed areas to get input from residents on how to improve their neighborhoods. The organizers are expected to cost $75,000 for six months of work.Obviously . . .
MAYOR MARK FUNKHOUSER, YOU ARE AN UNBELIEVABLE SCUMBAG IF YOU THINK THAT 75K FOR A "COMMUNITY ORGANIZER" TO GO DOOR TO DOOR IS "SMART WITH THE MONEY" AT THE SAME TIME THE KCPD IS FACING MORE THAN 200 JOB CUTS!!!"
Honestly, I thought I had more to say this morning . . . But if the Mayor is this clueless, naive, thoughtless and irresponsible . . . Then he's doing the majority of my work for me.
I want names of these organizers. I doubt they knock on one door. I hope the news follows this. It's just going to be a funnel through of money to people with names like Fuzzy, Curls and Saunders Brooks.
ReplyDeleteThey came into Northeast and ignored the long-standing groups who have been toiling for eons.
ReplyDeleteAnother bunch of out-of-town carpetbaggers making money but not one iota of difference.
The Funk and City Council spend like drunken sailors.
My apologies to drunken sailors, they do more for a town than this bag of douches.
Funk-ee I'll for get about Mammy if I get my mon-ee
ReplyDeletePleeeeeeese
Gwen Grant, Clinton Adams, Marie Young, Sparks, and of course Sharon Sanders Brooks will pass out bits of money to hanger-ons. Well, maybe not Marie Young. Since she couldn't shake any money out of Cauthen, she turned to the loser funk-ees and has been some what successful.
ReplyDeletesounds like "walking around cash" if you know what i mean
ReplyDeleteWhere is Rus Johnson when you need him.
ReplyDeleteHe could get this straightened out real fast with his Mensa Mind.
Is he still licking his I Lost White Rail wounds? Is he still staying up nights and calling people for advice on how to get some of the people he slandered to forgive him. Poor Rus Poor Rus's Career
Okay, isn't this an offense worthy of recall?
ReplyDeleteThis is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of and it's nothing but a payoff. I don't agree with Tony hardly ever, but this is a horrible decision and it makes our Mayor look ignorant.
Not a good use of money anyway you look at it. It is a total misuse given the city's current budget crisis. It also won't do very much to garner support for the mayor from the black community, if that's the group he's after. At this point any so-called black leader who suddenly backs the Funky one is looked as as a sell out because we know the only reason they are backing him is to get paid.
ReplyDeleteUsually these kind of jobs are for the mistress. Does the Funkster have something going in the "black part of town"
ReplyDeleteNo she lives in Blue Springs, but it was over long ago....
ReplyDeleteAfter a little exposure to the billing practices at The Wirken Law Group $75,000 didn't seem like so much after all.
