Remember that last year TKC reported of some suspicious activity regarding Mayor Funky's new business and his use of City property.
Now the City Councilman Ed Ford is moving to widen the ethics probe into Mayor Funky (OUCH!!! Talk about Dr. Sausage Fingers!!!):
Kansas City Councilman Ed Ford wants an investigation of Mayor Mark Funkhouser broadened to include new allegations of ethical violations.I think what's worse about this is Mayor Funky's response:
In a letter issued this week, Ford asked the city’s internal auditor, Roy Greenway, to include the new allegations in his probe.
The first allegation involves whether Funkhouser used photographs paid for by the city to promote his consulting business. Ford also wants reviewed whether Funkhouser had a conflict of interest when he voted against and later vetoed an ordinance prohibiting elected officials from having family members volunteer on a regular basis in their offices.
In a statement, Funkhouser said, “It is becoming more apparent that Ed Ford would rather focus his attention on his personal political ambitions than carry out the work of the taxpayers.”What that says to Kansas City is simple:

For a man who constantly cites his "principles" Kansas City's Mayor seems to think that the rules don't apply to him.
The Mayor's last remaining loyalists don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to this the Mayor's horrible record of ethical lapses. He has been fined, reprimanded and constantly embarrassed by his conduct. Clearly, the only City Hall denizen with a greater reputation for breaking the rules has been former Council Lady Saundra McFadden-Weaver - And the Mayor has had almost as much home mortgage trouble as her.

Mayor Funky's tactics are hypocritical, deceptive and now more than ever they are his typical lack of leadership and hiding at his Brookside residence.
This psycho theatre is just way out of hand. We need a man like Rus Johnson to lead us. You know he is MENSA smart. His reputation as a bully is an asset. Nobody and that means even mortgage bankers and wealth amuzement park guys won't be able to mess with him.

ReplyDeleteThis mayor can not leave the mess he made. Not because he wants to do the right thing and clean it up, but he has no place to go. He is facing an EEOC lawsuit, his wife paid out on her mess, his new business is floundering perhaps due to suspected ethical lapses in using city property to promote his business, he probably lost his home owners insurance. All of the family secrets will come tumbling out of the closet during the trial. He has another lawsuit looming because he harassed the EEOC complainant in a very public manner when he THOUGHT that the lawsuit was settled. He may owe his city provided attorney 35K, which the city HAS NO RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY.
