Here is one of many reasons why Kansas City Schools are failing: "Police took a 11-year-old boy into custody Friday when he showed up to school with a non-lethal kitchen utensil that he said he forgot to leave at home, a school district spokeswoman said. The sixth-grader didn't threaten anyone, but procedure at the Southwest Early College Campus required that police be called."
