Mayor Funky started his failure on Kansas City's biggest budget crisis by playing games with the release date AND THEN flip-flopping. Once again he pointed out that he really didn't know what he was doing and angered his colleagues right out of the gate.
NOW TKC TIPSTER ARE POINTING OUT A CURIOUS ARRANGEMENT BETWEEN MAYOR FUNKY'S FINANCIAL FORUM AND THE OFFICE OF MAYOR FUNKY'S LAWYER BUDDY JIM WIRKEN!!!
Reaction to the forum has been underwhelming and local news people tell me they see it mostly as a PR stunt . . .
THE FACT THAT THE MEETINGS WILL BE HELD AT THE OFFICES OF THE LAWYER WHO FORMERLY REPRESENTED MAYOR FUNKY IN THE MAMMYGATE CASE MIGHT SIGNAL THAT PEOPLE OF COLOR ARE LEFT OUT OF BUDGET DISCUSSIONS!!!
Additionally . . . And maybe more importantly . . .
KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS CITE THE FACT THAT MAYOR FUNKY STILL OWES THIS LAWYER A LOT OF MONEY AND THEY WONDER WHAT KIND OF FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENT IS IN PLACE IN RETURN FOR HOSTING THESE MEETINGS!?!?!?
These are all important concerns that Mayor Funky didn't consider . . . Ultimately, because of his lack of consideration, planning and skill . . . His credibility when it comes to budget talk has been completely damaged this year . . . When it was hoped that this would be his time to shine.
Additionally, the most important part in all of this is that NOBODY in Kansas City wins if the KANSAS CITY POLICE ARE FORCED TO CUT MORE THAN 200 EMPLOYEES!!! In hopelessly politicized budget talks, the safety of the people of Kansas City should be everyone's highest priority.
But it gets even worse . . .
As I was writing this post . . . One of the ALL-TIME GREATEST TKC TIPSTERS sent me a message of a rather unsavory bit of news that ties all of Mayor Funky's failures into one huge mess:
MARK FUNKHOUSER PAID LOCAL LAWYER JIM WIRKEN 30K FROM THE MAYOR'S DISCRETIONARY FUND!!!
This action raises a slew of questions that Mayor Funky needs to answer and will ultimately take attention away from budget talk and further undermine any remaining shred of credibility he has in terms of fiscal responsibility.
Look after yourself and your money TKC readers . . . Because nobody else is . . .
As always, thank you for reading and have a safe and fun weekend.
First.
ReplyDeleteSince he can't triple mortgage his house any more I guess that's why he has his second job consulting to pay back his legal bills.

Hey Kendrick, your mom gloria is calling you...
ReplyDeleteHey, "Go Away Tony Said...", can you do anything but cut and paste? Your shit is getting old and stale man. Be creative and come up with an original thought.
ReplyDeleteGet rid of Funkhouser!
ReplyDeleteChris Koster get to work on this NOW!
ReplyDeleteFunk is imploding. There's no denying it now. And I hate saying this but I voted for him, so obviously his actions are reflecting bad on my judgment.
ReplyDeleteTony, I used to just laugh at your website and regard it as a joke. But now I'm convinced you have a point about the guy. He doesn't seem to know what he's doing and he's not getting better. I expected him to make good decisions and now he is so completely focused on Gloria that everything else is unimportant.
I don't know if he needs to leave office, I only know that he is not even half of the instrument of change that I thought he would be.
I agree with Glenn. I hate to admit it, but Tony has really helped turn me around on Funk. At first it was a little funny, now it is too serious to laugh. He is ruining our city.
ReplyDeleteFunk go home.
ReplyDeleteWish Alvin would have won.
ReplyDeleteSo do I. We could have sold millions during the budget process.
ReplyDeleteCan't Beth do something about this?
ReplyDeleteKoster really does have to Man Up and do something about this quickly.
ReplyDeleteCandlestick maker . . . that was a hilarious post.
ReplyDeleteThere should be an independent audit of the Mayor's Discretionary Fund. The cell phone incident and this allegation provides the probable cause necessary to move forward with an audit.
ReplyDeleteCharles Garney as head of this Financial Forum is a joke. He can start by giving back the millions he's taken in TIF money from the city's taxpayers. GIVE THE MONEY BACK or quit the FF, you fraud.
ReplyDeleteDo you think if we promised to talk about topics like potato salad recipes and older women married to sometimes not so straight men, Jan Marcason might call for an independent audit of the Discretionary Fund? It seems like that would be a win/win for Jan.
ReplyDeleteAll you shitty hall people need to STFU and get back to work.
ReplyDeleteBTW... dont' be scaring us Tony... people can protect themselves when it gets right down to it. Number one priority is infrastructure, a word that was on one of your recent spelling word lists.
Water, sanitation, fire and rescue, roads and bridges are what's mostly critical.
The police is kinda like the military on the national level.. they get all the publicity and more money than they need when resources are limited than other critical services.
It's the scare mongers and the complicit media that keeps the focus on the cops. In other cities, its the fire department. Probably important in NY where one fire unattended burns down the whole borough.
And the NYFD manages to capitalize on it... when they go down the street, they're loud and they get a lot of attention and stir our hearts with oversized American Flags. Fact is, more public service lives are lost in construction than putting out fires or getting shot by a bad guy.
Radioman wants everyone to read his shitty blog!
ReplyDeletewe need a Draft ______ movement, except i dont know who _____ is. it's certainly not Brooks or Kay or any of these City Council types. it cant be a development type. we need someone who'll focus on basic infrastucture and schools and security. and by that, i mean someone who will either corral or shut down this KC public school system while there's some prospect left for the city. who is that person?
ReplyDeleteJonathan I do not disagree with you but understand that will take a change of the City Charter because the Mayor has no control over the schools under the current system. It is not a matter where the previous mayors have not done anything. They have no jurisdiction.
ReplyDeleteFlunkhouser's got bigger problems than the School District.
ReplyDeleteWhere is his summit that he promised?
Something else he has failed to deliever along with so much else.
Funk = Worst Mayor Ever
ReplyDeleteagree
ReplyDeleteWirken is a crook and always has been. He will milk this thing for all it has.
ReplyDeleteWirken found his soul mate in funk-ee.
ReplyDeleteWho is Chucky's lawyer.
ReplyDeleteWhat did he have to do with Cauthern?
Let's get Funk out of office..He is by far the worst thing that has ever happend in our city! Let's all thank the citizens of the northland for giving him the extra votes to get elected...YOU OWE US!
