"Republicans Need To Jump Off Funkhouser's Bandwagon"

I've never understood why a few Republicans still support Mayor Funky other than the fact that he's a tall white guy . . . Nick Sloan offers some suggestions and analysis on the subject. Still, Republican support in KC is always such a tentative thing unless it involves cash (it rarely does) . . . Talk radio calls rarely translate into a vibrant or meaningful constituency . . . Which is something Mayor Funky doesn't have enough experience or the will to understand.

  1. Fuck you Tony. As long as he stands up to greasy, beaners like you, and does not try to disgrace the constitution and start marrying boys and boys or girls and girls, and cuts the city budget in ways you have said you support then he deserves our support. Around 30 percent of Kansas City voters are Republican and that gives the mayor a strong base for reelection, if you Ds insist on running a flock of Gay and Greaser loving liberals to split the vote. You know I am right so fuck you.

    Fuck you.

  3. Of course Republicans like Funkhouser. They are envious of anyone limber enough to insert his head up his own ass. That's why we had eight years of Bush and Cheney.

  4. Why would any Republican be backing Funkhouser?!? He is a DEMOCRAT!! While party affiliations mean less in local issues..etc., I think all parties can agree that this guy has done a horrible job as Mayor.

If you are Republican and still find a need to support the mayor, just think about all of the finacial and political burdens he has placed on the city so far. We are probably approaching $1,000,000 in potential settlements and legal fees due to this mayor.

  5. Funkhouser is NOT a Democrat, never was and never will be - he fooled a bunch of naive people.

He is a TECHNOCRAT and that's why Republicans like him - go look it up or shut up.

  6. Anonymous 11:15,

You don't be so naive, of course Funhouser is a Democrat. You still have to claim him in your party, don't try to pass him off on us.

Here are a couple places you can look and see for yourself:

    1) Wikipedia- Listed as a democrat in Funkhouser's bio. You can also type in List of Mayors KCMO where he is also listed as a democrat.

    2) As you may recall, ABC caught some flack for not naming him as a democrat when he was on Good Morning America making an ass out of himself a couple weeks ago. You can find this story in any number of sources, Wall Street Journal for example.

Like I said in my earlier post, wanting him out is one thing Democrats and Republicans can and should agree on.

  7. Forgot to mention in my last post. Tony has posted the picture of Funkhouser on stage at an Obama rally here in K.C. multiple times. A Republican would not have been invited (or had any interest) to be seated on stage at an event like this.

He is yours, claim him and rejoice in him.

  8. Good point, essentially you're right but he wasn't on stage. He was in the crowd and didn't make it close to Obama in public.
