A very loyal reader wanted TKC to know that Nimrod (Rod) Chapel, Jr, a candidate for Circuit Judge of the Sixteenth Circuit (Jackson County) has a bit of an interesting history as an alleged slumlord of a party house that was documented in community newspaper and this blog.

The house is a total eyesore. This man is unfit to own property let alone be a judge.
ReplyDeleteSo Let me get this correct this slum lord is going to be judging me. This is what is wrong with KC we have the con men and hustlers in jobs just because he kissed a litle ass .
ReplyDeleteThe other side to this story is that Nimrod has provided affordable housing to a range of young people and helped some of them become established neighborhood activists in other parts of the city.
ReplyDeleteThe crap published by the Northeast News are purely the griping of a few uptight rich douchebags. You know the type. If you have a party at your house that utters a few peeps after 10pm on a weekend, they call the damn cops. The Northeast News story about the residents living in the house in 2007 included several outright fabrications, including one about rats in the house. In fact, when an exterminator came to the house and looked for rats, he couldn't find any evidence of rats. The house may have been a typical group/band house, but the residents were responsible, neighborhood-oriented people. That can't be said about the uptight rich douchebags whose contribution to the community is being uptight pricks.
Once again, why is a 40 year old man allowing these young males stay at his residence and disturb a residential neighborhood ? This is his official residence.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the other two candidates have unblemished records and more substantial professional achievements. We should select adults to be our judges, not men who act like irresponsible teenagers.
I am shocked that Sly James, the next mayor of Kansas City, allowed Nimrod to list him as a reference in his application.
