So far, the Internets hasn't really played a big part when it comes to getting people elected locally.
Of course, Obama
Now things are going to change . . .
In his race for Grandview Alderman, local Libertarian Mike Ferguson is employing a low budget web-based strategy that will likely lead to a victory!!!
The best thing about Ferguson's strategy . . . He isn't counting on the web to do his work for him . . . He's building on the solid rep that he has in his community and supplementing his web presence for big media buys.
Granted: Grandview is dying so it's not like there's going to be a lot of interest in who is the captain of the sinking ship . . . Still, this is going to be the metro's first web-based election win . . . And considering that so many parts of the Kansas City area are headed the way of Grandview, I think we're witnessing the beginning of a trend.
Bonus: Here's a late night photo gallery of Tori Praver from Sports Illustrated to help us celebrate.
Can folks read in Grandview? Do they have internet there or is Mikey up to his tricks of talking a good run?
ReplyDeleteThat's mean. Maybe true but mean.
ReplyDeleteEvidently his "tricks of talking a good run" are successful because he gets elected. I know him and I think Mike is a decent and honorable man who can disagree without being disagreeable. I'd vote for him because he understands the nature of government and supports and believes in the principles of self-governance.
