This is a biased blog . . . TKC doesn't try to hide a point of view.
That's why, as of late, I've been noting what other people think of the Co-Mayors.
Unlike Funk supporters I don't count the testimony of imaginary people at grocery stores who give their support to the Mayor . . . It should be noted that those same people tell me I'm awesome, good looking and smart as well.
Back in the real world . . . The talk concerning Mayor Funky and his Co-Mayor wife is far more harsh.
The Week In Review Appearance on Friday was a big deal . . . For a Mayor who is attempting to argue that his wife doesn't play a big role in his Administration . . . It was the second high profile interview of last week watched by all of the chattering class that featured the Mayor's wife . . . WTF?!?!?!
Anyhoo . . .
What struck me most was the description of Mayor Funky's so-called accomplishments.
Here's what Kansas City Star Reporter Dave Helling had to say:
"That's why the veto was so important, because it shows a degree of estrangement between this Mayor and the City Council. It is estranged to a degree that we haven't seen in a quarter century in Kansas City and I thought the most amazing thing I heard in your interview was the Mayor and his wife Gloria suggesting that they've accomplished all these things . . .
This is the Mayor with the least amount of accomplishments I can remember in 25 years of covering Kansas City.
He loses on every important vote."
Of course the emphasis is mine . . . And after Helling said this there was a bit of debate from that limey bastard Nick Haines and Mike "I need to grow back the 'stache" Mahoney. DeAnn Smith and her sexy ass Southern accent said something else that she blogged later . . .
I wanted to note the comment because it comes from a tall white guy with a lot of experience reporting on local government . . . It's not just the ranting of a basement dwelling, Latino blogger that cites the lack of any tangible results in the short, ugly and tragic tenure of Mayor Funky.
All things considered it was a pretty great discussion and I have to give Haines a lot of credit for being one of the few journalists in Kansas City able to put Squitiro on the spot and make her seem as flighty and weird as she is in real life . . .
This KC soap opera continues while the murder rate will reach one hundred maybe before Friday.

ReplyDeleteTony, Haines, Helling: Natural Born Ass Kickers.
ReplyDeleteon msnbc they are discussing how Palin's hubby sits in on policy sessions in the gov's office. is this a trend, one spouse unable to perform without the other, who is really being elected?
ReplyDeleteMy vote's for Tony in the next mayoral election. KC needs more snack cakes and naked models.
ReplyDeletehaha. I like the photo this time Tony.
ReplyDeleteI would like to point out, for the record, that the guy in the photo is black.
ReplyDeleteI'd vote for Tony, too - 'cause he doesn't have a spouse who will go to his job with him.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, if the trend turns to taking your mom to work....
