Today, good people of Kansas City . . . I ran afoul of the Co-Mayors of Kansas City because I had the temerity to question their crappy record regarding crime in one of the most bloody months in Kansas City history.
See my adventures for yourself!!!
It was possibly the most hilarious morning I've had since college WITH video evidence.
Still, I can't help but think that two Co-Mayors of Kansas City getting so mad at a dude blogging from a basement might signal that the "Orange Revolution" is in trouble.
That's why, to close out this week worth of posting I'm proud to provide this wonderful photo of Denise Milani wearing orange on a beach in front of a sunset.
Thank you for reading. Have a safe and fun weekend.
First bitches.
ReplyDeleteIs that lady booing Tony or the Mayor? I have a strange feeling she was booing the Mayor.
ReplyDeleteOH MY FUCKING GOD!!! Dude that was the scariest thing I've seen in ages, She tried to spiritually rape you. The good news is that it sounds like you can assume they're readers.
ReplyDeleteVideo is farked: "This video is no longer available" Did you pull it down?
ReplyDeleteNope, it is up. Are you pulling it up and down "Lance?"
ReplyDeleteI reloaded the page and got to see it. Wow.
ReplyDeleteHoly Fucking Shit!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know which god, too.
she is a CRAZY.
ReplyDeletegloria the snake in a basket "look into my eyes"
ReplyDeletecan someone please check on Tonys well being. we all know that everyone who "looks into the eyes" of Medusa turns into stone.
ReplyDelete"I pray that God bless you, may God keep you safe, may Gerald Gardner...eeerrr I mean God look after you."
Tony:
ReplyDeleteThat is probably one of the greatest things I have ever seen on the Internets! Wow. You've got some big ones, my friend!
You've obviously gotten under the Co-Mayors' skins. I thought your questions was fair and well researched. Where the hell's the MSM in KC on this?
You did all us pajamistas proud, TKC! Truth to power!

ReplyDeleteVery nice, probably your finest hour of blogdom thus far. Im pretty sure Squidzilla put some kind of spell or curse on you,...look in to my eyes-ee. Good job T.
ReplyDeleteHey T,
ReplyDeleteThis is the reason you lead the way. Man, we are nothing. Good post. I'm in tears. I can't even look in her eyes.
Oh, you do have credibility with me. NEXT.
Wow. That was... something else. I understand Funkhouser has no time or patience for you, but it didn't help his case to utterly dismiss the question, had it been asked by anyone else, how would he have answered it?
ReplyDeleteYour bit with GS was nutters. I understand she's "taking the high road" (yo, Jesus walked it, and barefoot, too) but the "look into my eyes" got a little over-the-top. I don't always agree with you, Tony, nor do I always like how you put things, but I do think you're raising some pertinent questions about issues that aren't getting time in the mainstream press, and Funk had an opportunity to steer things in a better direction & he slammed the door on it. Disappointing. But not unexpected.
Better luck next time, and maybe you need to get Hey Cameraman to work the video. :)
http://www.deadtreemedia.com/
ReplyDeleteHopefully you will treat Beth better if you run into her while you have your video camera.
ReplyDeleteLow IQ Gloria.
ReplyDeleteYou're melting down, Tony. I'm starting to see now why KMBZ dropped you.
ReplyDeleteYour video wasn't about KC crime problems...it was about YOU. You've become preoccupied with YOU. A little success sometimes does that to people.
You're starting to do what so many people do when they get a bit of fame without having had to pay their dues (like journalism school and being a yeoman in some news departments.) You're starting to think you can do no wrong--like Michael Jackson hanging his baby out a window. They lose touch with reality and they don't even know it.
I'm afraid she smoked you. What else would a reasonable person say to you? She's a better person than I would be after reading some of the things you've said about her and her family.
I'd say off-hand you've most likely, irreversibly. lost your ability to cover city hall with any credibility. That you got no other criticism for that You Tube spectacle should speak volumes to you, bud.
Well, at least she may have been reading the Bible, although I wish she would have answered that question about "Which God?" before I try to vouch for her religious motivations.
ReplyDeleteThe reason I'm saying this is, well, look what happened to right-wing Republicans. They prayed for rain of "Biblical proportions" to fall on Obama's speech, and instead they're getting Gustav and Hannah.
So make sure and pray for Gloria, too. Whichever of you is the most sincere will stay winning!
said joe miller
ReplyDeletepay their dues, ok Gloria is the co mayor. after catching a few babies gloria paid her dues and became the mayor.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bizarre couple! This situation calls for an emergency impeachment. But beware Tony! I think the Squit just put a curse on you!
ReplyDeleteHow did you keep your cool during your confrontation with the she-mayor? Though I witnessed this spectacle in the comfort of my own home in front of my lap top, when she said "God, God, God, Bless you!", I could not keep from soiling myself!
Dude...blaze this payless shoeless hooker in the mayor's office. How does someone pray for others while calling a black woman Bernie Mac? Squid...FALL BACK!
ReplyDeleteThat "prayer" sure came across as more of a threat and curse to me.
ReplyDeleteMethinks there are some little TKC voodoo dolls taking some serious head shots and body blows tonight.
LOLZ.
Ok this video is blatant bullshit. I was at this conference, I saw Tony, he edited out a lot. First, he didn't show up until halfway through. When he did arrive, rather than listen to any of the talks by Alvin Brooks, family members of victims etc. he shuffled around walking to and from the semi-circle of people not paying any attention. It was like a little kid that has to sit through something adult he doesn't care about. When they finally take quesitons Tony raises his hand, and Funkhouser starts going through the tv reporters first. Everytime he doesn't get called on he sighs as loud as he can and throws his hands in the air.. again like a kid not getting his way. He also stomps his feet back and forth. When he does get a question in - a short edited version is in this before it cuts to Squitro - he goes on for two minutes quoting stuff , everyone eyes glaze over, finally he gets to the question, 'How do you have any credibility.' In the video it looks like he asked Gloria, he didn't he asked Funk. Funk's response is partially shown. At the event Funk said No matter what I so I don't have any credibility with you but that's okay because you don't have any credibility with me or anyone else'. The crowd actually appluaded this, and Tony shut up and looked chastized. Then he went back to shuffling around while everyone else talked. At the end he started screaming another question about the Latino community Funkhouser ignored. Basically that this is a predominately Latino community, why aren't there any Latinos here, you're ignoring us, etc. The truth is, Funkhouser slapped him down with an uncharacteristically good response, the crowd turned on Tony, and he's edited this to look as if he asked the question to Gloria. He didn't. He also didn't post the people that came up to him not knowing who he was and asking why he would be so rude to the people there who had murdered family members by making it about himself. I always though there was a good side to this blog, but after seeing Tony in person and seeing how he's manipulated his footage, I'm done. I know that's probably a response he's happy with but I don't care. He's a liar.
ReplyDeleteOh, snap.
ReplyDeleteThe truth remains--Gloria is creepy but powerful. Mark is just plainly out of touch. And the city suffers in a number of ways, including record numbers of homicides. We need decent leadership, and we don't have it.
ReplyDeleteGet rid of these people and put a new mayor in charge....
Beth for mayor!
ReplyDeleteanonymous at 831 i applaud you i couldnt say it any better. tonys been having a hard on for funk ever since funk administrattion shot his mom down. and showed how racist rita and coho really is. i guess rita is still nursing her wounds from her fail council run and her miserable showing at francis smelsers house along with the black so call preachers.
ReplyDeleteanyone knows you can edit that tape to say anything you want the only true tape would be if you were there and saw it and the way anonymous said at 831 is the true way. tony edited the tape to make it sound like funks ignored him because of him being a mexican
ReplyDeleteAw Hell, looks like the Funk media team is in a tizzy.
ReplyDeleteI bet T has even more video he's gonna show us.
This should be good.
Nice work T.
I would like to see Gloria or Mark post a comment but I suspect either or both are posting anonymously. Look into my eyes: we know you are here.
ReplyDeleteDiscussing Funk's prostate exam is somehow more dignified than posting here?
Tony shows his prescience on this issue here. City Hall is correct in taking him seriously.
This is the best local political video of 2008 unless someone has footage of Bunk Farrington stomping off the stage in February.
Great video T.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I wonder is? If the Mayor doesn't like me, will he also not answer my questions?
I was at the conference too and I saw the Police Chief answer a tough question from you, you trying to get him to bad mouth Funkhouser with great skill. He's a better politician, a better manager and a more balanced person than our Mayor.
Funk just lost his cool.
As for Gloria.
There is no way to manipulate that footage. She just came off crazy.
What was she thinking?
Doesn't she know that people don't want to see the Mayor's wife in that light. A previous comment was correct, it was a curse and not a blessing.
Because I need my job I can't ask those kind of questions that you do T. But I know that a couple of journalists are glad that you did.
We don't want the Funk any more! We didn't know we were getting the Squid as a bonus but we don't want her anymore either.
ReplyDeleteThe mayor is in over his head. His wife is an ignorant woman.
ReplyDeleteSomebody, please teach Gloria the long established political phrase: "No comment". She needs to remember that it is better to be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
anon. 4:49. You certainly tried by the length of your comment to distract from the fact that Gloria is dumb; Tony very bright; the mayor ridged; and you a fool.
ReplyDeleteanon 728AM ... show us your tape!
ReplyDeleteLong before Mark Funkhouser was mayor I stuck a video camera in his face and a friend asked him a question. He said he wouldn't answer any questions on camera.
ReplyDeleteAs a couple of former employees of Union Station Inc. we wanted to know why his year long look at Union Station found no misdeeds in the handling of all those millions.
I've always wondered if Donald Hall told him he could be mayor if he would just sweep a few things under a rug. Just a thought.
Great blog, keep going. Someone has to tell the truth as journalism dead in America.
Holy Crap, is squit the sister of this woman?

Too bad.
TKC is alive and well!
Great video! You got some big huevos!
PS: I prayed for you at church this morning to counteract the Wiccan curse I am sure that she tried put on you. ¡What a cabrona!

Funny, how people jump to personal attacks when they can't fault your questions or explain the lack of appropriate response by co-Mayor Funk.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside from the gruesome twosome I'd like to salute Alvin Brooks for continuing his work with our city. I also think based on the piglets actions and words that Fuckie should be recalled.
ReplyDeleteThat was scary. "Look into my eyes" not in the history of KC has anyone behaved like the Squid. A good Psychologist would have a field day with her.
ReplyDeleteThe ramifications of this TKC confrontation with KC leadership are obviously over the heads of you hate mongers...
ReplyDeleteI took the 'look into my eyes' thing as a tactic in the face of a surprise confrontation to help our blogging friend here see that what he says is an attack on another person...a real person. And she wanted him to look at her, face to face. To look her in the eye and say the horrible things he says and allows on his site. He obviously didn't GET it because he went home and edited the piece he did for this site which is what we saw.
Frankly I'm very disappointed in his post today and disappointed that the supportive comments to what he's done are also cheap, petty shots. As of this count, 45 responses. I wonder how many actual different people have responded. Many of them read as if they're coming out of the same pathetic mind.
KC is better than this and so is the blogging community. You have no respect for the dignity of the office of mayor, or those who voted for him and are probably just fine with the guy.
You have no respect for our democracy, for your fellow citizens who DID cast their votes. You have no patience to campaign in the future for someone to replace him and you have lost your chance to be heard reasonably when that time comes, in the eyes of most people who are learning about your tactics now.
You're starting to show the same kind of unseemly behavior as Fred Phelps and his little peanut gallery of like minded friends and family Well meaning, but only in their own minds.
You have crossed the line. The most telling comment was the guy who portrayed Tony as strutting up and down, irritated the news conference hadn't yet become about HIM.
Sad, very sad and I expect that a lot of people who you could have used as friends will distance themselves from you. I know I will.
You're giving bloggers the very same kind of bad name that Phelps gives Christians.
Another Funky staff member heard from at 3:42pm
ReplyDeleteLet me repeat the request of someone, anyone, even Joe Miller: Please teach (or should I say train) Gloria to say "No comment". Those remarks would best come from her front porch. Why she is at a press conferance is beyond me. I don't recall the Funk needing her while city auditor. He made his reputation without her. Now he is loosing it because of her.
ReplyDeleteShe said I only have one thing to say to you Tonk KC. That is look into my eyes and God bless you. What else was there.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed, Funky staff members working on a holiday weekend. They really know how to drink the koolaid! Maybe they've looked into Squid's eyes.
ReplyDeletemistake --Tony KC
ReplyDeleteWow. Of course people edit their copy, be it video or print. Take Yael's column in Mid West voices. He had in there a direct quote from the mayor:
ReplyDeleteFunkhouser loses part of ethics case, must pay $1,000
By Yael T. Abouhalkah, Kansas City Star Editorial Page columnist
The Missouri Ethics Commission on Monday approved a "joint stipulation of facts" that requires KC Mayor Mark Funkhouser to personally pay $1,000 to the panel. It's a disappointing, if expected, conclusion to the investigation of the mayor's campaign finance funds from 2007
Remember what the mayor said earlier this year about the state probe: "We’ll cooperate, of course. But they will find no problem.
However, on Tuesday, the mayor's office conceded that Funkhouser had to pay the money for what he called in a news release "a minor technical issue."
In addition, the Ethics Commission on its Web site said Funkhouser would have to pay up to $3,400 more to the panel if it finds over the next two years he had "committed any violations of the campaign finance disclosure laws" or if he failed to pay the $1,000.
Funkhouser on Tuesday called the $1,000 a "small fee to essentially cover" the ethics panel's expenses.
The mayor and the ethics panel labeled the payments as "fees" and not "fines."
“Obviously, I am disappointed that this error occurred. When I formed my campaign committee, I sought the aid of experienced attorneys, CPAs and former elected officials. In the end, however, I take full responsibility and I'm willing to take the steps necessary to make things right.”
Mike Mansur's printed report edited out: When I formed my campaign committee, I sought the aid of experienced attorneys, CPAs and former elected officials. Those words throw others into the trash heap.
I suppose the funk-ees are trying for an insanity defense. Or they may stick to their original defense of just lying. Either way, I hope that come trial time funk-ee springs for some new rags for the malformed wife.
Hey Tony!!! Are you OKAY???!!!???
You should know that you can not talk to crazy people like a normal human being. And cheer up Tony, the Gods have smiled on you as you are NOT MARRIED to a trashy gutter rat like squit.
And team funk, get off your collective overpaid asses and get in the interrogatories. PRONTO! Quit dicking around! Deposition season is just around the orner! Are you ready Ed?
For those of you who were there at the press conference. Tony didn't ask her any questions.
ReplyDeleteShe tracked Tony down and got up in his face.
The blessing looked like a curse to me. She was angry, wild eyed and out of countrol. Her tone was just plain crazy.
3:42 is insane. Just another crazy liberal Christian who thinks that Obama is a god. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Queen Squid herself.
That's one crazy bitch.
ReplyDeleteIt's not too hard to believe that she said Mammy.
Dayum.
Hey Anony. 3:52, a real live person here, not Tony nor part of the media cabal the Funky Cult seems to think is after him. That "...look into my eyes" shit? CRAZEEEE! We know she's a live person. The problem most of here have is that she isn't the one who was elected to office. From what I understand she has a City Hall id which allows her to bypass the security checkpoints without being searched. She had (not sure if she still has) a city email account which I'm sure is subject to the Sunshine Laws that City follows. I've heard from City Hall insiders and reported here on this blog that city staff in the Mayor's office are to treat her edicts just the same as if they came from the Mayor himself. Did she vet Francis Semler? Not exactly a stellar job. Is she in charge of the Christmas Tree fund? The same way she was in charge of the campaign finances? Uh oh! Is she good with the money? Their upside down mortgage would seem to indicate no? Sure she's human but she's a poor choice of human to do whatever job she and Funk seem to think she's ENTITLED to. She has no experience and it shows. It will continue to show. Tony didn't force her to call one black woman "mammy" and another "Bernie Mac". Tony didn't force her to talk about graphically about other people's sex habits and what she likes in men. Tony didn't force her to write that ridiculous Dr. Sausage Fingers letter. Tony didn't force her to get an I Phone or Chiefs tickets or sweetheart deal car leases. That's just what we DO KNOW. God only knows what we don't know. The only way it's going to stop is for Squit vacate the Mayor's office and go do something she's actually qualified and experienced to do. Because this ain't it.
ReplyDeleteTony, Now you HAVE to attend every on of their press conferences from now on. Just keep a camera on her the whole time.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to think of this post. Gloria is crazy, but everyone knows that. Funk is incompetent. Everyone knows that too. Stuff like this actually makes them look like they are truly under siege.
ReplyDeleteFor all you Funk-ee lovers out there, remember this: he won by 850 votes. If only 3 people would have switched their vote we would have had a recount. I wish I could switch my vote and I know more than 100 people that wish they could do the same.
Funkhouser has no mandate and he has failed to build a coalition that allows him to govern effectively. He may be a very smart man but if he can't move his agenda forward without antagonizing the citizenry then he is nothing but a pretentious and dangerous ideologue.
Stuff like this actually makes them look like they are truly under siege.
ReplyDelete------------
??? The Squid came up to Tony... not the other way around. And Tony's question was simple but certainly not pleasant and the Funk's answer was even more mean spirited.
I think that the Funk and Madame Funk came out on the short end of the exchange. I am astounded that she sought Tony out... for what purpose Squid?? Did you acheive anything from the taped exchange?
I am glad to see some of the mayors staff take time out of their busy holiday weekend to leave some comments. Shows real dedication.
ReplyDeleteActually Joe MIller is only hanging on to collect enough material for his next book/movie deal. God knows crazy sells.
ReplyDeleteThis entire situation is why good people won't run for office. Now Tony's being goaded into being paparazzi. Well that's just great. Sounds to me like the Mayor's going to need more security whether he wants it or not. And if Tony gets roughed up a little, well what's the difference between rough treatment for violating his space and rough treatment in a public blog? I don't see much. If Tony disrupts public events, and gets roughed up a little like hecklers at presidential events, well, that happens. I didn't notice a lot of sympathy for the guy who said, "Don't taze me bro". I think people expect leaders to get a bit more respect than some self-righteous disrupter making a scene. Same lesson with Cindy Sheehan making an ass of herself over the war. She turned herself into a national joke.
ReplyDeleteNow many a peace protester has gone to jail for his beliefs...lets see if TKC's that committed to his 'beliefs'? How long was Mandella in prison?
I don't know much about KCMO's first couple...but I saw some pretty cheezy writing in here about someone I took to be their daughter. Tony's lucky to have a face left because mothers usually get pretty mean protecting their young.
Do you remember the crap one of the late night comedians got for saying Chelsea was butt ugly back when she was at that awkward middle school age?
People have their different points when one attack is okay but another one is going too far. Tony and his close friends are definatly pushing that line.
I think the best thing that can happen to this thread is for you people to have your weekend fun since you have no lives... but for Tony to delete it before the work week starts.
This will be a hard one to live down if he ever wants to.
i was there and it was great to see you get punked-i think you about pissed yourself! what was best was when the crowd went ooooooh after the Mayor put you in your place. priceless!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't even look gloria in the eye?!?!?! For being such a big lard ass you would you'd have some stones. Is it ADD or are you a pu--y? I think both!!!
ReplyDeleterather than "putting you in your place" Funky should try being a mayor. That means a more dignified approach.
ReplyDeleteCan we recall TKC, Gloria AND Funk and call it even?
ReplyDeleteNow that I have seen how the Mayors act out I get why people call them trash.
ReplyDelete"How long was Mandella in prison?"
ReplyDelete...
Really?
No. Really??
I sense that this mayor had trouble the day he married. He has brought this bizzar marriage to public life. Enough of this torture. This has become more crazy than Entertainment Tonight. Back to West VA. Oh, take Gloria with you. Best regards to cousin Jethro.
ReplyDeleteNo Shirt.
ReplyDeleteNo Shoes.
No Second Term.
f*cking awesome tony!
ReplyDeleteWay to shake up the Funk and his goofy wife. You have credibility with me and Funk is your bitch.
anon. 10:33. To answer your question, Mandella spent 27 years in prison. The last year with Gloria seems like 27.
ReplyDeleteKeep spinning Anony. 9:44. Your girl is still crazier than batshit. Why would Tony get roughed up for asking questions? Especially questions no one else is asking. You can bet your sweet ass if 20 white Northlanders were murdered Mr. Mayor would be finding a way to stop the violence. What's the Mayor waiting for? A nice round number like 100 deaths? And you're worried about Tony's behavior at some sham press conference?
ReplyDeleteYou can believe this video will most likely stay up until Tuesday morning and everyone hits their work computers. Oh hell to the yes.
Hillbilly new age white trash.
ReplyDeleteanon 944PM --- are you threatening Tony? Get a life.
ReplyDeleteTKC as Mandela?
ReplyDeleteNah, just hassling the Funk-ies
Sorry, I am not about the Funk, but your obsessions are just about as freaky. Really, get a life.
ReplyDeleteThese mayors are toast! I hope that they understand that they can not lie their way out of their LEGAL problems. Nope. They can not lie because they will be charged with perjury. No one is willing to cut them ANYMORE slack. Nor can they bully people to get their way. Even TKC did not back down!
ReplyDeleteI am reminded of a time in the campaign office when the supposedly female mayor screamed out at her husband "You aren't shit with out me! You fucker! You owe me!" Who was there to witness that charming little vignette? They do not remember! All of the stuff that they are now denying and they can not recall who witnessed the outrageous scenes of rage. Mark, really, you know that your wife needs help. She has been out of control for years. You know that she is bringing you down. You know this.
In your head do a performance audit on her activities starting from when you announced your candidacy. Look at the people who now support her. Do they have a vested interest? You know that they do. This you know because you have put up with her cruel behavior in deference to your children. That may have been a good call. I would not allow her to be a single mother either. She is vicious.
Sweetheart, the kids are grown. Your time as mayor is drawing to an end. She ruined it for you. You did not stop her, that is your weakness, you have never stopped her. So, now what do you do with the rest of your so called life? Me? I would start over again as a recently divorced adult. I would get some peace in my life. I would try to connect with nice, smart people and have real friends. I would find a mate with whom I could explore new places, meet new people, do the things that make life enjoyable. I would not continue to live as if I had a passive- aggressive jailer. Your options are limited. Right now you are trying to find a way out that will appease your wife. You do not "owe her" She owes you big time. You took an early retirement and gambled on being elected. By a thin margin you won. That victory was your last good day. Since then your wife has harassed you, your former supporters, and your staff. You can not negotiate with a terrorist.
Tony, I adore your blog but I think when you make it too much about you it doesn't look good. I think you have mostly correctly hawked the mayor and his ridiculous wife but the question you asked the mayor was poorly worded and hurt your credibility. Stay after the deadwood media and the mayor and of course....may God Bless you.
ReplyDeleteGloria like many convicted felons has found herself a religion. They do their bad deeds then say Gad has forgiven them. Now just forget you mere mortals, I will pray for you, amen.
ReplyDeleteYo, you should have asked Gloria "where park's her broom" g cuz she a witch.
ReplyDeleteGood work TKC, i thought you use to exaagerate about Funk & Gloria. but man their just full of shit, fighting crime is no.7 probably right after giving his wife a foot massage.
Citizens, like journalists, also have a right, if not more so, to question public officials about real issues impacting their lives. Public officials need to put the petty aside, and live up to this public commitment. For an elected official to "diss" a citizen s/he obviously does not like (even perhaps for good reasons) or to pick and choose whose questions will be answered, is not a preogative. It is insulting to voters and reflects poorly on the public official. Those in office would do well to remember who pays their salaries.
ReplyDeleteshit like this makes me long for the days of pendergast. tony would be wearing concrete slippers by now...
ReplyDeletehahahahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteOh, for a man like Pendergast again!
ReplyDeleteGood old fashion corruption and backroom dealing are better than the current crazy couple occupying the mayor's office.
What a treat to come back from a three-day weekend and find this gem of a video on TKC! Tony, you have outdone yourself! Kudos!
ReplyDeleteEven in his later years when he was suffering from tertiary syphillus, Pendegast was more competent at getting things done than the co-mayors on their best day. Funky (and his shoeless consort) love portraying themselves as "leaders," but they fail to understand that being leaders rquires having folowers ... and a couple of P/R/ cheerleader 'boys' plus a sad, delusional glass etcher from the Crossrods don't count as followers.
Again, Tony, thanks for all your good work on showing just how off the leash KC's first couple is.
SHE IS INSANE!!! And btw Funker, no one has faith in you and no one trusts you. You should probably know that.
ReplyDeleteThis blog seems to draw the same kinds of people who like anonymous cheap shots. Probably fewer than we realize but very vocal.
ReplyDeleteBut I think it's mean spirited and does not reflect well on you, Tony, or your gallery of like-minded friends.
Lots of people have problems, and even sane people will react badly to the kinds of tasteless attacks they would read on here. You all have relatives who aren't quite right. Do you humiliate them in front of their families or do you keep your mouths shut, show some compassion, and look the other way in hopes to provide a table environment so they can not lose it?
It appears Tony's trying to push them for the purpose of making himself look good at the expense of making them look bad. I think this tactic has backfired in the minds of most people.
I think it's fine when an elected official is criticized for his official duties. But leave his family alone, even if they have issues. Who he has in his office isn't important enough to be public interest. We're all prisoners to how we were made. He ran for office, he won, let him serve his term as best he can without all this very hurtful crap.
I'm not sure his sins justify the glee in which you're trying to bring him down. You remind me of what the republicans did to Clinton over Monica--and it wasn't worth what we all had to go through as they tried to overthrow a legally elected government.
You all look just terrible doing this. I think you've made your points (over and over) ...and to continue this attack reflects much more adversely on YOU than it does on THEM! I don't even know those people; don't even live in the jurisdiction. But I find this disgusting. It offends my sense of dignity.
His wife continues to thrust herself upon us. She continues to push herself on us. We are pushing back. Funk is at a crisis of his own making. He allowed this mess to happen. I think he enjoys her being slammed. He only gets bent when the spotlight hits his kids, rightly so. No. the wife is a target. She enjoys what she thinks is power. For her, it is only an illusion, for him it is a missed opportunity.
ReplyDeleteYour sense of defiled dignity I do not need. Your sense of outrage at the inequities perpetuated by squitiro are more in keeping with good citizenry. That and real action, Call Kanatzar and demand a nepotism investigation.
ReplyDeleteanon 1:43 while attempting to make a case against Tony, has actually made it against the mayor. The commentor notes: "...I think it fine when an elected official is criticiszed for his official duties. But leave his family our along, even if they have issues..."
ReplyDeleteWell, there's the rub. We are criticising him for his official duties. He has brought his wife into a defacto position of Chief of Staff. That is a public policy choice. He introduced the family into the political equation. The wife has become fair game! Protect the mayor if you must, but write a tighter argument for the defense. Right now, Tony's still ahead.
"This blog seems to draw the same kinds of people who like anonymous cheap shots."
ReplyDeletesigned, of course, anonymous.... and not from KC ...
Dignity left the mayor's office as soon as Gloria took her shoes off.
ReplyDeleteI'm just a regular KC resident. I agree that the mayor has no credibility in the issue of crime and has lost his credibility to do any other kind of governing. I agree that his wife should get the hell out of city hall and go work somewhere else (though no one would take her at this point).
ReplyDeleteHowever, it seems as if Tony is trying to pass himself off as an underground newsman who asks the real questions. Instead, you come off as an entitled smart-ass who is only out to make others look stupid, not to show things as they really are. If you had worded your question better and had not interrupted squiddy while she was talking, you would have looked a lot better in that clip...and they both would have looked much more stupid.
So the Funk took an early retirement...hmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean that he is double dipping like Ed Wolf? If Ed Wolf is taking home $250,000 before taxes, how much has the Funk been costing us with his retirement pension and mayoral salary for this freak show?
Don't think we have gotten our money's worth from these two.
Why do the Co-Mayors of Kansas City hate Tony so much? Don't they have more important things to do?
ReplyDelete"This blog seems to draw the same kinds of people who like anonymous cheap shots"
ReplyDeleteOh, the irony....
In her obsessive quest for power, Gloria has brought down her husband. But that seems of little concern to her.
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when a person with no talent or credentials bullies herself into a position of power. Someone like this will never let go. I used to feel sorry for Funk, but now he just appears to be an enabler to Gloria's insanity.
I hope that after the City Council passes the ordinance, security at City Hall will bar her from the building. I also hope that the media is there with cameras rolling, so we can all share the joyous moment.
I'm curious... 0505. Why would you give a shit? Are you a city hall bureaucrat on the public dole who works down the hall from her? It'd be fun to check YOUR internet log and phone records! heh heh. And get called into the mayor's office to explain all those calls to Tony and all those links to his site. If I was a KC taxpayer, I'd demand you give us a refund on your salary.
ReplyDeleteAnd if I was the mayor and named Guliani, I'd move your desk and your stapler to the basement of the World Trade Center. (hahahahahaha!
anon 9/01/2008 06:26:00 PM
ReplyDeleteHey Joe and or Kendrick, look at your pay stub. You do pay KC taxes. But keep up the job duties of covering up squit's mistakes. and where the hell are the interrogatories?!?!?!?!?!?!?
While we bash the mayor and Gloria, lets keep in mind the sewer bill is going to be here soon. Up to $1000 more a year on the water bill within 8 years just to do sewer upgrades. This is above the normal inflation on utilities. And add light rail cometh with a 91 million a mile price tag. And to the light rail add the 14 million a year to maintain the daily operation. Now given that cost, why would we put up with a disfunctional mayor?
ReplyDeleteSo Anony. 6:26, it' s more important to cover up Squit's crazy and bizarre behavior? So much for respecting the office of the Mayor.
ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right, Anonymous 725... the sewer bill IS coming due here and in every urban city. But we focused on a concert hall for downtown and a railroad to nowhere. How did THAT get passed or did all the bloggers come out against light rail.
ReplyDeleteBut don't be blaming Funk or his predecessors for our Depression Era sewer system. Kansas Citians didn't want to replace the sewers and won't until their toilets back up all over the bathroom floor.
Just like those in New Orleans didn't give a damn until Katrina that their dike money had been diverted by the local good old boys from fixing the levees.
Want to get to the bottom of crime? Go chastize the parents in the neighborhoods where these crimes occur. They raised those kids badly. The media should put up mug shots of those perps absentee FATHERS.
Want to get to the bottom of the sewer problems, go ask the water-boys and turd-herders down at the Public Works Association. The national office is down there across from the Hyatt... in the IBM building, our little stubby trade center tower. They might tell you why public works is so far down on priority lists, even when city services is really the main responsibility of local government.
Every big city mayor in the country faces these issues of crime and aging infrastructure. And every governor's nightmare is over river bridges that collapse like in Minnesota.
You people are wasting your time going after this mayor or the one before him or the one before HER!
People just don't want to pay for these things. Public works isn't sexy and so when money's available, it goes to police and fire because they get all the press from the TV stations. Will that solve the murder rate? No. Better schools and better parents will. Mostly better parents!
You guys have stepped in it. Fine, I'll sign my name so you won't think I work in the Mayor's office.
Good for Radio man. Somebody who cares about the real problems of this city. Too bad he isn't Mayor.
ReplyDeleteYou can blame Tony or you can blame the mayor. I prefer the mayor. Sewer issues, light rail and police protection are not things the mayor can do without council, city manager and community support. His wife is counter productive. Tony didn't make this issue. A pathological family has sidetracked an administration. One term or two and a half years to go.
ReplyDeleteI think you are a dick tony. I have always thought you wanted to be a tv reporter but were just too lazy to wash your hair and check a fact or two. This just confirms it. you are melting down.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with crazy people that they always tell you to "look into their eyes" while giving you the Crazy Eyes Killa look? Not including this video its the second time I've had a crazy person say this to me in the last month.
ReplyDeleteAlso: The mayor is not batman. His job is not to fight crime. His job is to represent our city on a national level, to put a good face forward, and to not embarass us all. He is not to blame for gangwars. He is to blame for being the most laughed at mayor this side of the gentleman in Detroit.
I knew Funkhouser would be poison for this city from his first public speech in the campaign. Instead of mentioning KC's past greatness and future potential, he said that we aren't a 'national city' and should be more like (segregated) PV. For some reason his message of NO HOPE resonated and he won a narrow victory. The funk and the foot will surely not be back for a second term.
Will Gloria help out Palin's daughter?
ReplyDeleteDon't know what is scarier, Tony himself or the fans of this type of media. Manipulation is a powerful tool and no one does it better than Tony. Credibility is not something earned by "hits" on a website. Many comments here represent the mindless, uneducated population that somehow are rewarded with the power to vote.
ReplyDeleteKrazy Eyez Killah!!
ReplyDeleteBwahahahahaaa (coughing fit) ...ahahahahahaha
"I thought we were coo de la"
"Motherfucker what the fuck?"
"How you gonna throw the jacket AT me?"
Radioman... so the answer to our sewer problems is for Mayor Smart With Nothinghouser to go off on a campaign to build a new expensive and to be certain lightly used light rail system??? Maybe the reason for this is that his toilet is already backed up and spilling out all over his home and he doesn't mind it? I can't see any reason for light rail or any other high dollar project until the sewers are fixed or at least until a plan is in place and the citizens know what the cost to themselves will be.
ReplyDeleteanon 251AM... did TKC manipulate the Squid into coming over to him and performing on tape her latest act of unhinged demented madness??? Or did Gloria just do this herself????
ReplyDeleteWHich is Anon 251AM???????
how about you 2:51am are you mindless. YOU ARE HERE, blogging at 2:51am.
ReplyDeleteNone of the TKC peanut gallery answered my question. Who cares about the mayor's wife working down there other than bureaucrats on the top floor of city hall?
ReplyDeleteWondering if much of this is just office-griping gone public? That's one of the occupational hazards of working in a GOVERNMENT office. The media thinks everything that happened in Office Space is somehow public business if the workers are taxpayer salaried. I think this kinda stuff is (1) lazy reporting because its easy to gather even if unimportant, and (2) it appeals only to the same kinds of people who wrote most of these responses to reason in here. All cheap shots and predictably salted with profanities--for low class shock value.
I think most people don't care about this inside baseball crap. It's petty, has no respect for truth and no consideration for public relevance other than hate.
Further, this attack-dog journalism is going to bring out the worst in anyone who's the target. Maybe that's what you're doing, poking a stick at city leaders because you CAN, and it gets you off to see the powerful wiggle. I definitely saw that in the Clinton attacks years ago on CNN. They just tried to hurt those people just because they could! At least the republicans were doing it because they were trying to overthrow the government.
Why is it being done in here? So many things needing coverage and hassling the first family in KCMO really shouldn't be one of them.
All this has served to do is to make people want to put on rubber gloves when they click this blog.
those people are not a first family. There is no such thing in City Government. He is only one vote. She is nothing. No one looks up to them they have no respect.
ReplyDeleteBut yet you are here.
ReplyDeleteOne word: Nepotism.
One more word: Mammy.
These things are important to the people of Kansas City. These things reflect badly on City Hall and they reflect badly on the City.
And for all the Mayor's talk about openness -- What this clip showed is that Mayor Funkhouser can't answer one of his toughest critics without resorting to personal insults.
That's not leadership. Kansas City deserves better.
Cathy Jolly for mayor! Teh hotness!
ReplyDeleteThis represents Mayor Funk being disrepectful to someone with a legimate question: Why is crime rated #7 on his list of priorties? It deserves an answer, not a smart ass response from the Mayor.
ReplyDeleteJust as important: why is Gloria Squid confronting TKC over a simple question? Does she harrass citizens who ask the tough questions? She comes off more like a thug for the mayor. She is abusing her position as Co-Mayor. Who gave her the right to act as the Mayors' thug either with taxpayers or city with city employees?
It's time for both of these Co-Mayors to leave city hall.
So when are you going to move on past this stale post and get back to posting links and pictures of nearly-naked hotties?
ReplyDeleteWould you like to see a nearly-naked Gloria
ReplyDeleteWould you like to see a nearly-naked Gloria
ReplyDeleteThat was some funny stuff there.
ReplyDeleteSomeone said Tony is the Dean of KC bloggers.
ReplyDeleteNot anymore.
Who the hell said that?
ReplyDeleteTKC is the d-bag of the Kansas City bloggers.
Strangely, I think he would appreciate the title.
Good work T.
You assholes just don't get it.
ReplyDeleteTony wants and needs the attention for his blog to be successful. He wants to provoke a reaction and it doesn't matter whether it is support or derision.
Even the most hateful comments help his cause.
It's not a hard fact to understand but something that still gets lost.
TKC has said it before, he thrives on haters. You people are just falling into his trap and the Mayor looks even worse for personally insulting him rather than just being a professional.
It's a silly game but Tony seems to play it better than anyone else.
Keep it up, Tony. Don't back down. The civic community and "leadership" in this town isn't going to pressthe issue, but someone needs to expose the co-mayors for what they are. Even Steve Penn wrote this morning that the press conference was too little too late and could/should have been held months ago. Problem is, months ago they were too busy trying to get rid of Wayne and his employees....not doing the job the Mayor is elected to do. Its all about priorities and the two of them and their minions have their priorities all wrong.
ReplyDeleteSince there is not video, I'm assuming Tony was forced to take it down. Personally, I think this blog should be shut down. Tony has become too obsessed with the Mayor and his wife. If I were the Mayor I would ban Tony from any future press conferences. He has one agenda... What's in it for him and his illegal wetback homies. Where's the City Manager in all this... he runs the city. Tony must be getting kickbacks from Wayne Cauthen and Terry Riley to keep the pressure on Funkhouser while they rob the city blind.
ReplyDeleteThis community is not a latino community. There is nothing latino about this community except for the tags the little Cockaroaches insist on displaying. It only shows their ignorance, as does Tony.
As for thos idiots who claim posts agains Tony are made by staffers... You're a bunch of retards as well. The majority of ppl in this city voted for Funkhouser. We are not all staffers. We are the ones who did not want Puppet Brooks sitting in the Mayor's office with his black thugs.
Let's hope we can finally get this website shut down for it's malicious attacks and virtual stalking of the Mayor and his wife.

ReplyDeleteThis is funk's support...
To Thin Margin
ReplyDeleteMayor Funkhouser is a puppet!
I use my real name so everyone will know I'm not a puppet.
Tony I apologize for my behavior.
ReplyDeleteI really am a douche.
I wish your recall effort would have worked. I hate this job.
Tony can criticize Funkhouser as much as he wants. He worked harder than all of you to get Funk elected and now he has a right to complain.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad to watch the mayor act like TKC has "no credibility" since he had the most credibility when the mayor needed it. Funk andhis wife suck.
