Kansas City has received a six-month extension to submit its plan to federal authorities for overhauling its sewer system. The plan was originally due at the end of this month.
Politicos don't want voters thinking about light rail and sewers at the same time. They'll make a little bit of progress on the Sewer plan around January when pipes all over town are bursting . . .

From what I read in the Star this proposed green solution amounts to a series of road side flower planters overlaying the split-off sewer and storm water lines. As I see it, we are now looking at a big expensive sewer plan embellished with practical accessories.
ReplyDeleteWhat I don't understand is:
How is dumping poo into Brush Creek for an extra 6 months while the Council contemplates landscaping options a GREEN SOLUTION for KC??????
The term GREEN is like the term LOW FAT in that the term does not make the product/plan beneficial. It must be viewed in context.
For example...If I were to tell you that I'm going to continue throwing empty paper cups and soda cans out of my car window for another 6 months while I investigate an option for a more effective, recyclable, GREEN trash bag in my car I hope nobody would think that was a good idea. Hopefully someone would say I should just use whatever empty disposable bag I could find and worry about making it more effective later?
Isn't that what the council is doing with this GREEN plan?
Sometimes my poop is pea green.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad to see how mis-informed you are. OVER 90% of the fecal matter found in brush creek came from pets and water fowl. When a sewer overflow occurs during a heavy rain event, hundreds of millions of gallons of rainwater are added to the sewage and the velocity of Brush Creek at the time of a heavy rain event keeps it all moving to the big M0. River. Check your facts with MO DNR before spout off about info you have no clue about. of course, lying is also considered free speech now a-days.
