Maybe the Dead Tree Media Deserves to Die

David Martin of The Pitch recently did a follow-up report (that nobody was calling for) on the campaign finance reports of Councilman Terry Riley. There's a lot of innuendo and snarky talk for double billing discrepancies of less than 500 bucks and a hotel bill that was paid. Put simply, The Pitch is in Mayor Funky's pocket and their "investigative" prowess would have a lot more credibility if they bothered to write about Gloria Squitiro's missing 80k even once or even mention Mayor Funky's run-in with the Missouri Ethics Commission.

  1. Tony, stop being a dumbass about the $80K. Find a decent accountant (or at worst an AP Payable clerk) and you'll realize the difference between the filings is based on the fact that one report claims the bills were unpaid and the next quarter's report showed them as paid. That's why an amended filing was submitted.

I think Funkhouser-Squituro have done a terrible job thus far, but continuing to throw out accusations that have no merit simply makes it look like all the acccusations have no merit.
