Church Planting season in Kansas City

The Cawley blog features a fascinating post about founding a church in this town.
The short story, for those who don't already know, is that Katie and I have been praying, planning, and dreaming about planting a church in Kansas City since 2005, and my dreams for KC date back much further than that. After a great deal of prayer and a long weekend of marathon meetings in KC last winter, we started moving forward with plans to plant.
It's a neat behind the scenes look at how the Redeemer Fellowship was launched. Double Bonus: The faith community seems to be VERY tech savvy and not only has sleek website but also maintains a Twitter account.

  1. I would hardly call us savvy in any realm, let alone technology...but I've been reading your blog pretty much since you started it (I guess that could make me savvy in something).

Appreciate most of what you do here and would love the chance to meet you one of these days.

  3. Another church? We are SAVED! I mean look at the crappy parts of town! A church on every corner! And each one doing it's part to ensure the surrounding community stays a complete shithole.

At least the pastor gets to drive a BMW!

Dear religious leaders, please continue absolving the guilt of gangbangers so that you and yours can afford more bling!
