The Kansas City Police Board will fire two officers in the Sofia Salva miscarriage case.
Personally, I think it was the right decision and it's actually quite comforting that local authorities including the Chief of Police realize that people of color and their unborn offspring deserve medical treatment no matter what the circumstance. This decision is one of many reasons why TKC has much more faith in the KCPD over all of the other second rate security guards who call themselves cops in the suburbs.
Coming soon . . . The part where every racist in town cries foul and angrily argues that minorities don't deserve to live while defending cops who ignore their training and crassly forget about the dead baby in this case.
Update:
One of the most outspoken advocates for the termination of the officers, Alonzo Washington, has already filed a post on the subject on his blog. Money line: "Those 2 cops had the power to undo all the work activists & cops have been trying to build."

No its a word that is used to say that they are dirty cops. Meaning that they smell of foul play.

ReplyDeleteTheir training DID NOT dictate that they provide transport. Training officers, officers, and commanders testified this was not what was taught and was NOT the way they condiucted business. The officers made a determination based on the fact that Salva is a lying scumbag. They rightly beleived because of her continual lies that she was lying so she could go to the hospital instead of the jail. This is common place with dirtbags on the street.
ReplyDeleteThey have a medical screening at the Jail to determine if treatment is needed. This is where the colapse came, not with these officers. The trials with the hearing officers (to read retired judges without a political axe to grind) in very strong language stated that the department training and policy DID NOT require the transport and left it up to the officers to decide based on the circumstances. The judges stongly recommended the department reverse the termination because there was no just cause based on the FACTS.
The officers are already suing for wrongful termination and WILL WIN. If you don't think so watch and then eat your words.

KCPD has a long history of committing criminal acts to "catch criminals"--all with the blessing of Jim Corwin and cronies.
It's good to see them finally getting the national infamy they deserve.
Never have I seen so much badmouthing of the KCPD than from racists who are mad because they didn't get the decision they wanted.
ReplyDeleteI want to thank those two officers for helping to cut our tourist and visitor numbers with their inhuman manner of treating people and yes even criminals. Warrants do not a criminal make. Glad I do not have to be on the street after dark with our Police force.

Get a video from the library on how to treat a dog and then get one on human relationships and compare the two approaches.
Police in this town make mistakes but the training is substandard and we all know it and we pay with this type of goon type interaction--usually the gestapo type behavior happens with people that have NO power. They pick there victims.

ReplyDeletethe female arrested on the other hand stated she was having problems of bleeding before she went shopping for grocceries and a fake temp tag.
the drs said there was nothing the officers could do, including calling an ambulance, to prevent what happened.
