"THINGS AMATO COULD BE DOING"

A classic post from the JoCo SOB . . . TKC's suggestions for the former KC School District Superintendent that's just hanging around picking up a six figure salary:

1. Help clean up: Don't be ashamed, Latinos are stereotypically awesome at janitorial and low end labor . . . As a former dishwasher, I found it disconcertingly familiar.

2. Translate: So many Spanish speaking students in the district now . . . I'm sure they need all the translators they can get . . . Especially since KC Schools have been notoriously skimpy when it comes to bi-lingual education and helping students move effectively to using English.

3. Rattle cages: They already forced him out . . . What the district needs is an insider who can complain and bring to light all of the waste, mismanagement and corruption on the inside . . . Seriously, if Amato wanted to do everyone a favor he would speak his mind on all of the things that are wrong with the district.

  1. Rattle cages? Even Amato has more sense than to do that - the guy has a 6 figure salary now and he wants to get _another_ 6 figure salary in the future. Come on Tony, think long term for once. He's not going to blow his chances for the next job by becoming a rat, especially for this sorry-a$$ school district.

  2. As a parent who actually has had children in the KCMO School District for the past 11 years, I can tell you that Mr. Amato is the LEAST responsive of the superintendents we have had. I spent 2 months on the phone and writing letters to his office. Not once did I ever receive a call back and this was about my daughter going MISSING from school and the school having no idea where she was.

  3. I hope you found her. Honestly.

  4. How about the Mexican (mostly likely illegal) kids learn English? And while they are at it, maybe their parents (probably illegal also) learn a little English also?
