KC blogger Sassywho recently filed a magnificent post documenting an obvious case of racial profiling thrown out of court without much consideration . . . Or, business as usual for people of color in Kansas without much access to the justice system . . . Unless we're talking about getting locked up.

Call the Whaaaambulance....Poor babies. Just breaks my heart.
ReplyDeleteI read the post nothing magnificent about it. I was expecting some kind of proof. They didn't even note in the post that all of the officers were white.
ReplyDeleteThey're Kansas Cops. Of course they're white.
ReplyDeleteit was a drive by shooting. He hid the gun in the glove box.
ReplyDeleteBlack woman here and I didn't see anything to suggest racial profiling. I believe that if they alleged some traffic infraction as a reason to stop him it may have been a pretextual stop, but I think they would have done the same thing to anyone seen talking to a known drug dealer.
ReplyDeleteI think of racial profiling as stopping someone for some made-up reason or for a legitimate minor reason and then searching them unnecesarily just because they are black and the cops thinks they should therefore be good for some illegal act or warrant.
