Here's a small point but it's important nonetheless . . .
MAYOR FUNKHOUSER DOESN'T WANT TO RISK MEETING WITH ANGRY WHITE PEOPLE INSIDE THE URBAN CORE!!!
The Mayor and his witless PR people are attempting to substitute a cute, nice meeting in Hyde Park among a friendly crowd for a previous meeting they they CANCELED AT REVOLUTIONS CHURCH!!! This is obviously a move to steer clear of angry urban core po'folk and instead cater to the yuppies who would actually show up to one of his lectures in Hyde Park.
Here's why it's important that the Mayor duck anything in the urban core right now, the meeting will feature white people yelling at him which might further sway opinion from this suburban base who are waving in their support for the "white knight" given that he has failed to keep his promises at almost every turn and relies on gimmicky political maneuvers in lieu of offering anything substantive.
It's funny and satisfying to note this but anybody running against Funkhouser next time around must make it a priority to split the white vote since Mayor Funky has made his career by catering to this special interest group.
Finally, the lack of a keyword search on his blog is yet another indication that guy isn't serious about communicating effectively with the public . . . Only publishing a series of PR bulletins.
Mayor Funkhouser is now and always will be a populist leader who (with the proper increases to his compensation) will save the Regular Folks. Remember that or The Great White Hope will cut your favorite city service ... like water.

Not in Brookside or Waldo, forget about the silk stocking district, too and Crestwood and the UMKC area, Westport.. well Dutch Newman is still hanging on but she must have her fiscal reasons. Valentine? nope. Midtown? nope, Marlborough? no, maybe a small stretch of southtown. and some of the north land, but the rest of the city?... NADA. My neighbors and near neighbors bailed along with the rest of KC. Check out his ethics report in Jeff city. He had to go to the lawyers and construction types who live outside of Kansas City because the residents he did ask said NO.
