ReplyDeleteThe groundbreaking for the $245 million dollar Christopher K. Bond Bridge was a wonderful event for all that worked so hard for the funding and design of the bridge. What has not been publicized by any local press is that the bicyclists there came to protest because the funding was not in place to immediately build a bike crossing. The bike crossing needs to be funded by the City of KC.
They heckled Senator Bond during his speech. These were the hard core fanatics who lead the bicycle organization across the country.
I can't believe the stupidity of these people heckling our Senior Senator since it is he who controls so many millions of dollars in federal funding for such things. Senator Bond appropriated $5 million for a bike crossing across the Heart of America Bridge for 2011 and they still heckled him. Believe me, he noticed and will not forget their lunacy.
Tony trike's aren't hard to pedal.
ReplyDeleteTony has this thing for white folks on bikes....I guess that doesn't count for the hispanics I see riding expensive bicycles. Maybe his mommy wouldn't buy him one....or a trike.
