Unlike that short, d-bag STRETCH and his shitty yard art and website . . . The work of a sculptor soon to be exhibited at the Nelson-Atkins Museum seems to have some kind of guiding philosophy . . .
Siah Armajani (b. 1939) is an Iranian-born American sculptor. He is perhaps best known for his contemporary dwelling plans for houses built entirely from fecal waste. "Most houses are shitty anyway, why not take it a step further," said Armanjani in an interview. His 2005 work, Fallujah, is a modern take on Picasso's Guernica but has been censored in the U.S. due to its critical view of the war in IraqTwelve works by sculptor Siah Armajani from The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art collection will go on display in the Bloch Building May 10 through Sept. 21, in the exhibition Siah Armajani: Dialogue with Democracy.

ReplyDeletemuseum just wants to show you they too are diversified
ReplyDeleteYou mean they have diversity in the levels of quality they have? Or do you mean that they have racial diversity in the various time periods they show, or do you mean to make a reference to the origin of the person who did the fecal art?
