The mainstream media is mostly ignoring the upcoming School Board elections as of late but I've noticed that local bloggers and the Internets have taken quite an interest. Therefore, if any of you folks out there have questions for the candidates . . . FEEL FREE TO LEAVE THEM IN THE COMMENTS and I'll share them - I'm the dude who writes the questions so there's a pretty good chance your comments will find a way to the candidates if they aren't completely lame - A distinct possibility.
I've read that Airick Leaonard West never graduated from college. I'm wondering if this is true and if so, how he can champion education for our children. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteSchools has always been a down fall in Kansas City. Our population is leaving due to the fact schools are dumb founded. Why would it make any difference if either one of them came on the school board noting they THINK they may make a difference? This gives you a good look at how the minorities work under stress. THEY ARE LOSING.......

What are their positions on the public charter schools in Kansas City?
ReplyDeleteThe KCMO District has spent a lot of legal fees to fight the charter schools in court. They have sued the state saying that funding going to charter schools, should instead pay bonds on the old desegregation case.
If elected would either person be as litigious as the current board is toward charter schools.
What do the candidate think of breaking up the school district into a few smaller districts?
