The KCPD Needs New Helicopters, Cool. They are currently working with Vietnam-Era Equipment. Sad. It's gonna cost. $6 to 8 Million worth of federal funds.
This is probably a good idea given that new helis will most likely prevent dangerous police chases on the ground even if the choppers seem ominous overhead (in "the Black part of town") and along 71 is where I always take note of the antiquated equipment of the KCPD.
Even more important . . .The story reminds me that I have to find my copy of BLUE THUNDER which is my favorite helicopter movie of all time. From the bygone days of 80's B-movie, action classics this flick captures Roy Scheider at his best and with the same 80's pilot glasses that so many hipsters wears ironically nowadays.
Fighting crime is fine but doing so with classic fashions and cool catchphrases is even better.
