Cracking down on Erotic City

Mike Sanders and Jackson County legislators recently followed through on promises to crack down on one of the nastiest spots in the metro (other than than Chiefs games).

Anyhoo, the new regulations on local adult businesses are probably a good thing considering that places like Erotic City been unregulated so far and Kansas City strippers already have too much attitude just because the purple lights hide their bruises and injection points.
With unusual swiftness, the Jackson County Legislature on Tuesday passed an ordinance that puts immediate new restrictions on adult entertainment businesses.

The 38-page set of regulations applies to any business in unincorporated Jackson County but is aimed at Erotic City, 8401 E. Truman Road, which has 26 booths for viewing pornographic videos and nude dancing at a nonalcoholic bar.

Erotic City has existed for many years, but the recent federal felony conviction of a man for having unlawful sex with a 14-year-old girl there got the county’s attention. In addition, a 16-year-old boy told authorities he was sexually assaulted last week outside Erotic City.
Thankfully, I don't think this is a "slippery slope" situation where silly censorship is the next step . . . There's nobody arguing in favor of the sleazy and sometimes illegal antics at Erotic City. And besides, paying for sex is wrong!!! Getting a mid-level management job and a surprisingly affordable luxury sedan is the only socially acceptable way to offer a signal to women looking to exchange poon tang for expensive entertainment and pricey gifts.

  1. I love skanky poon myself, but this was the right thing to do. That place was out of control.
