With Gov. Blunt's recent announcement that he won't run, I was thinking that one aspect that was overlooked (just a bit) was his use of Youtube to tell the world that he was almost 20 points behind Jay Nixon in the real polls that they don't show the media.
However, the dude's last real move as Governor impressed the hell out of TKC . . . Especially since it didn't involve reprisals against Mexicans.
The Governor published his weird resignation message via Youtube and FINALLY let the Internets do the work for him. Of course he could have called a press conference but that would have involved either straight up lying to reporters or risking the details being leaked to the media. Truth is, Blunt finally learned that the Internet is the best way to communicate DIRECTLY with the public autonomously.
No middleman, no questions . . . Just the message. Very much like the early days of hip-hop that Beck described: Two turn tables and a microphone. In this case . . . A video cam and an opinion/information.
I've noted for nearly a year now that vlogging is the way this whole thing is going to go . . . People want to watch, not read for the most part.
Speaking of, maybe Blunt took a cue from a very successful Missouri vlogging effort . . . You might remember TKC noting Rick Ryan's World as an area vlogger to watch for: He's getting crazy hits on Youtube for his stripper interviews and strip club reports. Personally, I think it's great that he's talking to single mothers from across the bi-state area. Just like the soon to be ex-gov and his first youtube vid . . . It's nice to see somebody paying attention to Missouri poles or something like that.
rick ryan, like you, is a dumbass.
