Let's make on thing clear . . .
Blogs across Missouri brought down Gov. Blunt's Chief of Staff Ed Martin!!!
The guy was a political time bomb and it's surprising he lasted this long.
Thanks to Missouri's blogosphere, his troublesome behavior was put on public display for voters across the state to witness.
Martin's outburst against Latinos across the state was one of the first indications that he was unstable and a liability to the Blunt Administration.
Then, the Scott Eckersley e-mail scandal sent his political demise into motion.
Fired Up Missouri! posted AN INCREDIBLE 23 days of consecutive posts highlighting the scandal, Martin's role and allegations of the Blunt Administration breaking the law by deleting e-mails and firing an employee who made it public brought the situation to an impasse in which SOMEBODY had to face the political firing squad.
Now there's a tiny question as to whether the dude was fired or resigned . . . That angle is nothing more than political cover . . . The fact is that Dem bloggers from across the state took the guy out of office with some pretty angry posts.
Also, Blunt's recent poll numbers made it clear that the guy isn't going to get re-elected and this really seems like a desperation move.
But the message is clear: Anti-Latino reactionaries are political liabilities all the way around, the Governor is learning this the hard way.
What we'll see in the near future is that the problems of the Blunt Administration don't stop with Ed Martin and his poor record regarding racial profiling, lack of job growth, health care cuts and setbacks for education in Missouri will ultimately lose the election for the guy.
Also, just for fun:
PLAY THE NEW MATT BLUNT: DOCUMENT DESTROYER GAME!!!
Good riddance
ReplyDeleteWhat is the correct term for more then one Mexican? I know it's a murder of crows, a pod of whales, a herd of cattle, flock of geese....where do we stand on a "bunch" of Mexicans? Should it be a Gang? A group? a slew...I like that one!!
ReplyDeleteFrom here on out a roofing crew will be known as a "Slew " of Mexicans.
I don't really think his "bunch of Mexicans" comment had anything to do with it. This is a strategic move by Blunt and he will win. Missouri can't afford Jay Nixon and his pandering to a bunch of illegal Mexicans.
ReplyDeleteSo he didn't get a pardon. BFD.
ReplyDeleteHe did not get a pardon, YET.
ReplyDeleteToday is a good day for Missouri. It's about time this racist was shown the door. Anyone that has met him knows how big of a dbag he is anyways.
ReplyDeletewondering if that was a mexican chief of staff and said that about white or black people would he still be fired.
ReplyDeleteA Mexican chief of staff in Missouri will be as hard to find as an ice cube in hell, why don't you go there and look?
ReplyDeleteThe guy was a big time jerk. I'm glad that he's gone.
ReplyDeletebut it still wouldn't make me vote for Blunt.
ReplyDeleteEd Martin was like most republicans in Jeff, a racist asshole and everyone knows it. How much more corrupt could one governor be? Can't wait to see him lose.
ReplyDeleteSounds like we lost a good one. So he said a "bunch of Mexicans". What so offensive about that. I do like slew though, but gang would be more appropriate. All the new homes going up around me are riddle with gangs of Mexicans doing the drywall, paint, roofs, etc. They leave their trash on the ground (no pride in this group), use homeowers outside water facets to clean themselves (hmmm... that's stealing). By calling them a bunch was kind of nice...
ReplyDeleteSo long Ed.. you put up the good fight for us middle-class Amercians that have to foot the bill for these gangsters.
A salute to Ed Martin! May he continue the good fight on another front!
Blogs didn't bring down Martin. Ed brought himself down.
ReplyDeleteBut good try Tony
I have 3 words for ya "Green Card F**kers"! And if you ain't down with that, I have 2 more words for ya "S**k IT"!
