Funkhouser loves these kind of stories and the media loves reporting the humble pose put on by the Mayor: Apparently, the Mayor had to pay a parking meter yesterday (wow!) and some security guard almost gave him the boot at the VFW convention. Reportedly, this story was all Mayor Funky could talk about for the rest of the day . . . Sadly, this morning I was a little disappointed to see that somebody, anybody at the Star didn't ask the dude about the home loan story which a great many of you seemed interested in . . . Bleh. The overwritten PR pieces about how KC's Mayor looks like a bum but neglecting to note that the dude lives in a house valued at nearly a half million bucks just seems like old news and election PR at best . . . It's pretend leadership and a realization that if he even spoke to the topic of crime it might make a difference but he continually seems more concerned with cultivating his image. This is different from Country Club Kay only because it speaks to a slightly different demographic that I hope is smart enough to see through the whole facade.
His house is not worth ANYWHERE NEAR half a million bucks.

yes, people in our culture frequently use the advesarial court system to resolve disputes.
