Making pregnant Black women lie down on the street is part of Indy Police Policy

The Independence Police Department's defense of this disgraceful incident is beyond disgusting and I can only hope that any lawsuit the lady files against them ends in a HUGE SETTLEMENT: Independence Police Chief Fred Mills said officers followed policy when they took extra precautions while stopping a pregnant woman whose vehicle matched one suspected in a rash of crimes.

  1. They interviewed this lady and the police chief on MSNBC this morning. The police chief got snippy with the reporter! What an ass!! If this is how the top cop acts on national TV, then no wonder the Independence cops have such a bad reputation.

I also watched the video of this incident. One of the cops was nice and the other was a brown shirted thug. There is NO excuse for this behavior and I hope this lady sues for every penny she can get.

  2. I couldn't agree more Anne. On top of what you said, anyone with police experience knows that this was out of control and an abuse of power due to racism and sexism. There are plenty of other better options for searching someone. I hope she sues and wins.

  3. I don't agree with you Anne or anal. It's not racist but the African American mostly play the race card. Poor them, what it comes down too.
The police made a mistake. They were pulling the car over, not who was in the car. She said they pulled her over because she was black. Even thou it was in the dark of night. I hope she doesn't get a penny from them and just works like the rest of us.
