Go ahead and take a look . . . You'll have to wait another year for a bigger collection of bad art, hipsters, ironic t-shirts and daddy's money supporting so many young(ish) white folks. Also, earn 100 points for every Black man or woman over 40 you see at the festivities. Actually, I shouldn't be so down on the thing, I'm hoping that the Mayor stops by and supports the eclectic sensibilities of all these people who are threatening to get out of KC if they don't get the kind of tax breaks they want . . . And the Fringe Fest has a great vibe, so we might all get to see Gloria Squitiro's bare feet!!!

The concept of a fringe festival got it's beginnings in England 60 years ago this year. When a number of arts groups were not invited to participate in Edinburough's arts festival, they showed up and set up performances around the fringe of the main festival. Thus the name. Over the years, fringe festivals have become an event all their own. Giving a venue and hopefully an audience to artists who otherwise don't have a venue or only want to have a shot; be them good, bad or worse. so, go ootu, ahve fun. And you will see artists of all ages, nationalities and race.
