H&R Block is now the biggest name in the downtown/crossoroads art scene

This isn't exactly news (or important) but I was just thinking that H&R Block now has more pull than any local art gallery after reading a post about an artist featured in their lobby on Paul Dorrell's art blog. Thing is, folks who pass through the doors of H&R Block probably have a few bucks to their name so they can afford to buy a glorified paint-by-numbers piece and might even do so if it's displayed prominently . . . I don't know if this puts the Crossroads creeps at a disadvantage, you could reasonably argue that both Crossroads and Block can play off one another in terms of artistic "rep" power in KC but it's always safe to bet on the entity with a bigger bank account and that's Block by a long shot.
