If you want a laugh, do yourself a favor and pick up the latest copy of
KC magazine.
Stupidly, they don't have their recent interview with Ms. Mayor Gloria Squitiro online but here are the highlights . . . (I'm paraphrasing because I'm too cheap to actually buy the magazine, it's not really worth the 4 bucks or whatever they charge and I do all my reading for free at Barnes and Noble for the price of nothing - except sneering back at the wanna be librarians or whatever when they obviously pick up on the fact that I'll never buy anything from that place) . . . Anyway HERE are the highlights:
"We were really surprised that once you get out of Brookside everything is falling apart."
The kids have her name . . . Now I guess I'm not really a feminist but if that isn't the biggest P-whipped move I've ever heard of, clearly there is no question as to who is wearing the pants. IF I ever had kids they would be marked "Property of TKC" and I could look forward to never mowing another lawn again once they reached age 5.
She's not a midwife which not only has some roots in witchcraft but also a practice that has faced some legal challenges in Missouri. She's a "doula" which just kind of sounds spooky, doesn't it?
Another nice mention of her faith which pretty much only involved denouncing Catholicism in this article . . . Certainly I understand talking smack about the Church but I wouldn't exactly call it a tolerant or politic stance for somebody who is so high profile in a public office.
A lot of mention of her Italian roots, they article even uses the word Mafia and she claims that "Funk would have been rich if he would have just taken some of the bribes he was offered." Classy! I guess that's the talking point of all the people who want to describe Mayor Funky as a reformer and it's what passes for integrity in Kansas City politics.
For that and a few more glamor shots of Gloria along with the rest of the elitist and old content offered by KC Magazine, simply go to Barnes and Noble and read the thing without bothering to pay for it. TKC is looking out for you!!!
I was getting kind of worried. I turned on the computer this morning and didn't see any new posts. I thought Gloria had bought you some cement shoes.
ReplyDelete"We were really surprised that once you get out of Brookside everything is falling apart."
ReplyDeletethis statement is true.If you go to garage sales from 26 street to 75 street. Brookside neighborhood has it made. Just ask Mark Forsythe....
A lot of mention of her Italian roots, their article even uses the word Mafia and she claims that "Funk would have been rich if he would have just taken some of the bribes he was offered." .
this is a false statement because I think he would of been their auditor and he would of turn state and federal evidences for money laundry, tax fruad and white girls sex slaves (turning tricks for KC Rag forumers).....
For the Funkhousers. At lease their son hasn't hung himself like former Mayor Wheeler's did.
At least Funkhouser nor Gloria have a neighborhood named after them like Kay WALDO Barnes did.
ReplyDeleteNow there is something to be said for a politica who eschews her name to appear average when the truth is more ivory sheathed.
By the way, Even in Brookside/Waldo the streets are in disrepair. Granted, taht it is nothing compared to the seedyness seen in the Westside and so promoted and valued by its occupants.
The whole "Mafia" comment is nothing but an attack on ethnic "family" values not shared by TKC, not unlike challenging that other motto of "Para la raza todo; para los de afuera de la raza, Nada" so popular with some College "activists" who fancy themselves appart from our country.
At least, here, unlike in Nuevo Laredo, our criminals don't threaten to kill reporters, our ruling political parties are not under a cloud of 205 million dollars of suspected laundered campaign funds held by Chi-Com meth manufacturer who appears to have been in cahoots with that country's Customs.
Let's see; who would I rather have? Funkhouser or Fujimori, Menem, Trujillo, Batista, Luis Echeverria, Salinas de Gortiari, Vicente Fox or any of the other thieves/repressors so familiar in our cultures. Maybe a bit of barefoot prancing is not so bad compared to the scandals "our people" are so prone to get themselves into. At least he's not being booed for a yearlong extramarital tryst and betrayal of trust with a Telemundo cleavage-on-pumps with a mike, like the MEChA LA-LA mayor who latched his wife's politically connected Raigosa surname to his. Now tell me that is not total wussyfication in the naked pursuit of power? Oddly enough, our so-called Latino media has stayed away from that seamy and tawdry page turner like if it was week old skunk roadkill. Which it is.
Having relatives on the LA-metro area, and having visited it often; I'll take Funk over Antonio any day of the week. Just as I'd choose KC metro over the LA metro as my home. Even if some would have us follow doen that slipery slope.
05:00 Do your rants always spin that far out of control? Go back to LA. You'll blend right in.
ReplyDelete5:00 you are insane.
ReplyDeleteWaldo was Waldo long before Kay Waldo Barnes.
Go back to Overland Park.
"Funk would have been rich if he would have just taken some of the bribes he was offered."
ReplyDeleteIf Gloria has knowledge of an actual bribe offered to Mark in either his role as city auditor or (sort of) mayor, isn't she required to tell law enforcement under some public corruption statute?
This is a real question, and not just a smart ass comment. Any lawyer types out there who can speak to this? I know all the best legal minds read TKC.
It's funny how not only has Gloria been compared to some amazing women in this country, which she couldn't even hold a candle to. But its freaking hilarious that Funkhouser is being compared to not only LA's mayor but international Presidents? Get real "Anon" 5:00pm! Don't you have some overcharging immigrants for legal and translation services to do?
ReplyDeleteWaldo has been around longer than Country Club Kay dumbass.
ReplyDeletewitches>catholics in my book
/shrug
Wheeler's son was mentally ill. Kind of like people who post insulting comments like that here.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite....when asked how she relaxes she states, "I love David Sedaris. He's so queer." Very poor choice in adjectives.....
