KCPD Chief Cowrin is doing the right thing in getting ahead of YET ANOTHER instance of police brutality in Kansas City by asking for a local officer's walking papers after some dramatic dashcam video. KSHB provides a pretty good recap of the story:
The Kansas City Police Chief recommends firing an officer over an incident caught on tape.I haven't seen the video yet but it sounds pretty horrible, here's hoping somebody in this area posts it on Youtube!!! Crime Scene KC has a post on the subject as well that I believe has a few video clips online.
Anthony Melkowski has been with the Kansas City police department for 10 years, serving as an officer. He was suspended Tuesday without pay for an incident that happened nine months ago, on Nov. 2, 2006, and was caught on tape.
The tape shows behavior the Chief of Police calls unnecessary use of force. It shows Officer Melkowski slamming Michael Payne onto the hood of the patrol car.
Melkowski and his partner believed Payne had stuffed a bag of narcotics into his mouth and they were trying to get him to spit it out.
The tape also shows Melkowski use his baton and basically shove it into Pain’s mouth. All the while he is grabbing Payne's throat, pulling on his hair and swearing.
Throughout the 13 minute stop Payne did not spit out the drugs and he was never arrested. He was taken in for questioning and was then released. The next day or two later, Payne filed a complaint with the police department.
More ranting on this subject later . . .
funny if the thug was wearing a hood ornament necklace
ReplyDeleteHow is he a thug? Didn't get arrested, didn't have drugs on him.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you basing that assumption on?
Because he looks like a muthaf'ckin thug. Damn, pull your head out your ass. Would you let your daughter play with that guy??
ReplyDeletehow about his criminal record josh.
ReplyDeleteduh.
Just because someone has committed a crime in the past doesn't mean they are subject to get their ass cracked without provocation for the rest of their life.
ReplyDeleteThis thing called the Constitution told me that.
Maybe he should grow a fucking brain, get a job, and spit out the drugs when he's told too. Then he wouldn't get his ass kicked. He definitely deserved it
ReplyDeleteActually the guy did have drugs on him and was a known drug dealer, but you people wouldn't give a shit about that.
