Council members Beth Gottstein, John Sharp, Ed Ford, Deb Hermann, Jan Marcason and Terry Riley said Semler’s views were a problem and a needless distraction for the board. Some worry that Semler will impose her views on the parks, such as attempting to mandate that all materials be in English and banning immigrants from using city parks — fears that Semler said were absurd. Referring to the Minutemen, Gottstein said: “This is one step from the KKK (Ku Klux Klan). My world is totally rocked by this. We fight this every day. I am grieving for my friends in the Hispanic community.” Gottstein and Sharp said they were offended by the groups Semler is associated with and the views she espoused during a CNN television interview and in letters to The Kansas City Star, including suggesting that the federal government halt legal immigration. And Semler's opposition to even legal immigration is one of the many things that sets her apart . . . She's not being given a hard time because she's anti-immigration, she is facing this harsh criticism because she is actively involved with an extremist group that has documented connections with neo-Nazis and racists of all sorts, who opposes even legal immigration and has been described by Southern Poverty Law Center, The Anti-Defamation League and President George W. Bush as either a hate group or part of a vigilante contingent. Put simply, we're not talking about somebody who merely wants border control or immigration reform, we're talking about a person who is in lock step with some of this nation's most virulent racists. In the end, it comes down to where you stand. Do you support Mayor Funkhouser so much that you're willing to take the side of extremists? Do you hate Mexicans so much that you think keeping company with a small but vocal group of radicals who dream about killing Mexicans at the border is the best way to go? Do you like authentic enchiladas and cheap restaurants that seem safely exotic? A growing number of people have answered no, no and yes. And that makes me happy. Now let's get realistic: This is a good old fashioned Kansas City political gangbang!!! Funkhouser is getting fudged on this one because he's weak right now. In politics, kicking someone when they're down is the right thing to do . . . Make no mistake, if Mayor Funky's numbers were up he'd be riding rough-shot over everyone. So, the Council needs to keep their independence, the Latino community needs to flex their muscles a bit and every anti-Funk force in the City could use this good cause to take a pot shot at a guy who barely made it into office . . . Also, the Star giveth and The Star taketh away . . . Funkhouser's edge always came from this town's paper of record but it's good to see that a good story beats allegiance to empty notions of reform. Finally, I'd just like to note that a few misguided conservatives want to make this issue about immigration reform and it's not . . . This lady isn't getting spanked in public because of her beliefs that the U.S. should protect the border, she's getting getting justifiably beaten up for actively participating in what a good number of people believe is a hate group . . . There are folks who don't support Amnesty or unfettered immigration . . . They're called Republicans. It's really just matter of where you stand, with the hate groups who believe that Mexicans are more dangerous than the terrorists OR with so many folks who are speaking out against scapegoating people just because they're poor and brown . . . Sadly, Mayor Funkhouser has shown, in this instance, he's on the side of the Minutemen.

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed.
ReplyDeleteWithin a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous
flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started
building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to
the barbecue.
Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the
table...everywhere. Then some of the birds turned mean: They would dive
bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own
pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud: They sat on the feeder and
squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that
I fill it when it got low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. I took
down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up
their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.
Soon, the back yard was like it used to be...quite, serene and no one
demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now lets see...
Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care,
free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.
Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to
pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families: you have
to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor: you child's 2nd grade
class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak
English: Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to press "one" to
hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than
"Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights
and free liberties.
Maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder!
Immigrants aren't birds. They're people.
ReplyDeleteThat would be an "Analogy"..please try and keep up or we will be forced to hold back the entire class, under the "No Dumb ass left behind" policy
ReplyDeleteI got the point. you consider poor people from Mexico on the same level as animals. The analogy was false. And anti-immigration proponents always try to take the human element out of the argument. But you still sound smarter than Semler even if your "analogy" seemed like it came straight out of Pat Buchanan's panicky book.

It's a crappy analogy, Nightmare.
You're completely mischaracterizing the Minutemen. Their manual says that they aren't even supposed to have contact with illegal aliens. They simply report their presence. The character assassination that you're doing to this Northland woman is also irresponsible and isn't supported by any facts. She says she isn't an active member and you should take her at her word. To not even give her a chance based on her views that you disagree with is just asinine.
ReplyDeleteJudge her on the content of her character, I guess that's too much to ask from a racist and sexist like you.
I don't agree with Semler's views on immigration but just because one joins an organization does not make her an extremist. There are eco terrorists in the Sierra Club, Klan members in the Republican Party, I could go on and on. It is unfortunate that organizations taking a strong stand on an issue attract a lot of kooks. Sometimes the kooks even take over and force out those who aren't radical enough. Citing a connection to skin heads is not enough to label an organization racist. I am not prepared to say everyone who joins that organization is racist just as I am not prepared to say everyone who joins Peta is an eco terrorist.
ReplyDeleteTony, are you getting paid to be Darla Jaye's producer? Because she seems to get all her stories from your blog. ;)

ReplyDeleteThe totalitarian, extremist, hegemonic, radical political machine of COHO is amazingly narrow minded. Instead of cheering the Funk-master mayor for naming the first Hispanic leader in 150 years, instead of dancing in the streets for his naming an outed gay member to the commision, they focus on a seventysome year old rose gardener who is a member of a group they despise and of which there is no record of extremist behavior, other than sitting on lawn chairs on the border to report thousands of instances of illegal immigration.
Tony rolls out his heavy guns and pontificates that Frances Semler should step down from her post on the commision. That "The Star reports that several Kansas City organizations representing various racial and religious groups will call today for newly appointed parks board commissioner Frances Semler to resign." Newsflash to Tony: Much like the National Masonry of La Raza does not represent Hispanics, but Mexicans, much in the vein that Mexico considers them (those born in Mexico as well as those born abroad from at least one Mexican parent per Arrticle 30 of the Mexican Constitution). However, for correctness sake, they have now said that they are not exclusionary and represent "Latinos". Where's the beef? Show me more than token representatiion in low to mid-level posts by Dominicans, Hondurans, Guatemalans or Ecuadorans in the NCLR?
Beth Gottstein has some gall. She's only defending her position in another organization that caters to West Side interests. Her world was probably rocked by some thrd-class neighborhood agitator who told her "Oye chica- You've got to come out and defend La Raza from the big bad Minuteros, or else, you ain't down with la raza... Pass me some quesillo for my bagel. I wish this could be served with Mole. Hurry up and do your bit for the cause and maybe I can set up a brinbch with Janet nest time she's in town to visit her folks"
Frances Semler is not even a professional politician, nor is she likely to have any influence since hers will be a single vote. What scares the COHO axis is that she may show the rest of the political elites that don't go to the illegal alien ghettos (and I say this in the very european sense of ethnic neighborhood, lest I too become fodder for the lynch mobs so prevalent at COHO).
Semler is now accused of being against legal immigration. Well, considering that we take in more than two million legal immigrants every year, not counting the million or so illegals that infiltrate our borders annually, and have done so for about four decades, I'm not too sure that such a concern is misplaced, given the lack of fealty to the US by "recently naturalized citizens" and immigrants. If "Rita what's-her-name" came to my house and smoked in my living room, she's find reself on the porch with an ash-can. The second time, she would not be received again because she had not respected my home. Such is the case with naturlaized citizens who advocate for amnesty, sanctuary for illegals and who, like COHO and their well placed demagogic mafia in governments have, for years abused of the good graces of the electorate by ignoring the rule of law. Maybe, we should divert some of the efforts from bringing foreigners in to ensuring that they are competent in "civics" and ethics. I don't see Rita picketing the Mexican Embassy for all the abuses which that government foists upon its poor to force them to leave their country and come to "El Norte". No, instead, many like her belong to the Institute of Mexicans Abroad and hob-nob with Mexican politicos whenever there is an opportunity, including being flown to Mexico city for top level meetings with their handlers at the Mexican Cabinet level.
It turns out that for Tony and Rita, "extremist" is anyone who objects to the illegal entry of hundreds of thousands of foreigners who occupy jobs and services intended for those legitimately here.
While Hispanic political figures have advocated for shooting the white man dead, I've yet seen or heard anyone say that he/she is representative of that group. The minute men may be attractive to some racist nut-jobs, much in the same way that the Brown-Berets and other activist minority organizations like those in COHO are attractive to Hispanic crazies dying to "stick it to the man". They are statistical minorities within minorities. Part of the phobia expressed by the pro-amnesty lobby is the fear that those who are supporters The Law of this Nation will become mainstream and the general electorate will realize how outfits like COHO have bamboozled the taxpayer into aiding and abetting a criminal enterprise by lumping all "immigrants" together when in reality an immigrant comes with papers and an illegal alien just comes on his own.
Having lived in Mexico for several years, I will confess, I only like enchiladas suizas. The colorectal cancer inducing cuisine usually slung in KC's Mexican restaurants strays substantially from what my housekeeper (In Mexico Housekeepers also cook and are paid a pittance. I paid mine US wages and thus had no turnover)plus the hygene in most of these establishments is conducive to rodent infestations.
Let's face it. Funmeister has the job. The Star has the print but no real sway until the next elections. Political gadflys like Rita seek headlines to remain "relevant" in spite of their lack of skill or savvy. Last night, on a talk radio station, she ranted and was then burried by callers, including several Hispanics who tore her and her organization "a new one".
When you accuse Frances Semler of "actively participating in what a good number of people believe is a hate group". Tony forgets that there is a silent majority that is aghast at having a neighbor who rents his house only to Hispanics and that the house is ussually more than ten persons. The same majority sees illegal aliens as law-breakers and sees outfits like those in COHO as pit-bulls who will gang up on anyone who strays from the approved party-line and are not above using thirdworld tactics of slander, calumny and character assassination. Luckily, in this country, there are laws against such abuses.
Personally, I stand with Frances and the First Ammendment which Rita and her cohort of anti-free-speech thought police would like to throttle and choke.
I could give 1/2 of one crap about this whole deal, except for the form of the argument.
ReplyDeleteIf Semler's membership in a patriotic organization makes her the worst of that group, then Tony is an armed and dangerous fighter of reconquista. Oh wait, he can't get his lard ass out of his mother's basement to don an ammo belt and a sombrero to FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT!
In order of air-headed-ness this is my top three of vacuous comments in the media today:
1. Beth Gottstein not being able to answer a straight question.
2. Tony's shilling of his Mom's fringe group
3. Frances Semlar leaving a program to 'get her hair done'.
The Coalition of Hispanic Organizations (COHO) is a group of 24 independent Latino-focused organizations in Kansas and Missouri which have joined together to improve the quality of life for Latinos through networking, advocacy, and collaboration.
ReplyDeleteTony is a crackpot and an embarrassment to all Hispanics in Kansas City.
COHO is valuable.
I'd feel fine without either of them.

Legal Hispanic Said, TL:DR
ReplyDeleteLegal Hispanic Said:
ReplyDeleteCOHO is a coalition of organizations with interlocking directorates focusing on aiding and abetting illegal aliens because they have settled in Hispanic neighborhoods and give these organizations fodder to solicit grants from organizations and individuals who dabble in social engineering.
COHO could be valuable if their behavior did not encourage the kind of criminal (yes, illegal immigration and soliciting a visa under false pretenses are both federal crimes) behavior that serves as cover and concealment for even more nefarious activities such as MS-13 style gangsterism.
I guess now, the Salvation Army, the Red Cross and other non-ethnic-obsessed organizations are going to be accused of being racist... COHO organizations are not all that valuable unless you believe that traditional civic service organizations have failed our Hispanic Comunities and they now deserve exclussive, privileged and specious treatment at the taxpayer's expense.
Tony is not so much an embarrassment to all Hispanics in KC as he is a source of amusemsent and a baseline that illustrates that we come in all levels and hues of ideologic content and intelligence. Members of COHO, LULAC and NCLR would like the public to think that our opinion is monolithic and that only they hold sway over our minds. I guess the green curtain has parted and the racis wizzard may become exposed.
Frances Semler is under siege. This 73 year-old grandmother was recently named by Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Mark Funkhouser as one of five Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners. Six of the thirteen City Council Members are now calling for her to step down.
ReplyDeleteTheir reason: Gross incompetence? A felonious past? Dereliction of duty? Nope. She's a member of the local MinuteMen chapter. That apparently is reason enough to disqualify this otherwise qualified appointee.
Generally, I avoid local issues, but bear with me as I color the pertinent backdrop to this outcry. Mark Funkhouser is a recently-elected Democrat who was celebrated just three days ago for shaking up the blue-blooded, WASPy Parks and Rec. Commission:
Mayor Mark Funkhouser today took a slap at the parks department for decades of 'elitism and cultural divisiveness' in naming his appointments to the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners.
'The commissioners have often been chosen from among the city's wealthiest,' Funkhouser said, pointedly making his announcement in Troost Park in the city's poorest council district. 'In fact, the reason the parks board is separate from the city management structure at City Hall is because the city's elites wanted it to be free from the influence of regular folks. With the appointment of this board, I am signaling a change.'
In place of the white guys he dumped, Funkhouser installed a 'representative' team comprised of women and minorities. One of the other newly-minted commissioners, Ajamu Webster, is a founding member of the National Black United Front's local chapter. The NBU Front's homepage describes it as "a coalition made up of individuals and organizations working together for the benefit of all people of African descent." Among the NBU Front's major causes are support for reparations payments and African-centered schools (in the US!). Semler's critics are (surprise, surprise) smearing her as a racist. Apparently membership in this explicitly racialist group doesn't bother them.
Parenthetically, the MinuteMen are careful to the point of absurdity to avoid any mention of race when promoting and defending their cause, even spelling out in their pledge that "a Minuteman believes that just as ethnicity, race, religion and all such factors are incidental and do not affect our God-given, constitutional equality as American citizens, such factors are also irrelevant in the debate over illegal immigration. There is no tolerance among Minutemen for racism or bigotry - E Pluribus Unum - Out of Many, One." No such verbiage from the NBU Front.
Said Councilwoman Beth Gottstein, referring to the Minutemen:
This is one step from the KKK (Ku Klux Klan). My world is totally rocked by this. We fight this every day. I am grieving for my friends in the Hispanic community.
Nevermind that the Minutemen have not engaged in vigilantism, and have not been found to have engaged in any illegal activity despite being under the watchful eye of ACLU scouts sent out to try and catch one of the thousands of members--who've donated their time and energy, pro bono, to alerting a severly overburdened Border Patrol of invaders from south of the border who've illegally crossed into US territory--doing something untward.
Gottstein, and another Council Member, John Sharp, say they are offended by the group Semler is associated with. Nevermind that the Coalition of Hispanic Organizations (COHO), one of the groups leading the charge against Semler, has teamed up with La Raza ("The Race") in the past to support various legislation and causes. Association with an ethnic separatist group
doesn't bother Gottstein or Sharp like a multi-racial group of concerned citizens drawing attention to unenforced federal laws does.
Frances Semler is understandably astonished at the paroxysm of cricism directed at her. It is tough to see how her membership in a grassroots citizen group that is viewed favorably by most Americans has any bearing on her ability to perform her duties as a member of the KCMO Parks and Rec. department, but a potential connection is being asserted nonetheless:
Some worry that Semler will impose her views on the parks, such as attempting to mandate that all materials be in English and banning immigrants from using city parks — fears that Semler said were absurd.
Given that English is the official language of both Kansas and Missouri, and that many illegal immigrants do not pay into federal programs like the National Park Services' Land and Water Preservation Fund, which provides grants for the creation and development of state and local parks, these are things I'd advocate for. But my view is irrelevant--she's given no indication that she will do any such thing.
As if that wasn't enough of a stretch:
In addition, some council members were dismayed that one of the leading anti-abortion advocates, Phyllis Schlafly, praised Semler last fall for her leadership in opposing Kansas City’s plan for an inland trading port with Mexico.
If you weren't already convinced that this unctuous outrage is more of a vendetta against a woman with conservative views serving in a leftist city government than a genuine concern for her ability to perform her duties sufficiently, that should do it. From where does abortion come into play? And what does her opposition to a trading port with a foreign country have to do with her ability to oversee local parks? This is cultural Marxism.
Yet another Councilwoman, Jan Marcason, is worried that the attention devoted to this newly-created controversy will divert too much of Semler's attention--but if it weren't for people like Marcason making a big fuss over a non-issue, there'd be no 'controversy' in the first place.
Others have criticized Semler for wanting to halt not only illegal immigration but legal immigration as well, to allow the record number of foreign-born US residents currently living in the states have ample time to assimilate into the American mainstream. She wants an immigration timeout, similar to what took place from 1924 to 1965. The public overwhelmingly shares her sentiment--a detailed, comprehensive Zogby poll found that 66% of Americans believe current immigration levels are too high, while only 2% believe they are too low.
Interestingly, the Jewish Community Relations Bureau is joining other special interest groups in calling for Semler's resignation. Perhaps the Bureau should focus more on the immigrants coming into the US from Latin America, who are by far the most anti-Semitic major demographic group in the US:
One of the most important findings of ADL's 2002 Survey of Anti-Semitism in America concerns Hispanic Americans, one of the most significant and fastest growing segments of the American population, in which the poll found an extraordinary gap between those born in the United States and those born abroad. The survey revealed that while 44% of foreign-born Hispanics hold hardcore anti-Semitic beliefs, 20% of Hispanic Americans born in the U.S. fall into the same category.
While only 12% of white Americans hold what the ADL considers to be "hard-core anti-Semitic beliefs", 35% of Hispanics in the US do. So ubiquitous is the antagonism towards Jews in Latin America that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has accused them of murdering Jesus and taking "all the world's wealth for themselves."
The KCMO Morning Show's Chris Stigall has listed contact information for the six Council Members demanding Semler's head on the station's blog, and I humbly borrow from him below:

ReplyDeleteSince Audacious Epigone decided to jump in with bogus spin polls allow me repost some others:
In fact, 62% of repondents from the very recent NY Times/CBS poll suggest that giving undocumented immigrants " a chance to keep their jobs and eventually apply for legal status". Even more detailed 67% favored “allowing illegal immigrants who came into the country before January to apply for a four-year visa that could be renewed, as long as they pay a $5,000 fine, a fee, showa clean work record, and pass a criminal background check.”
(up 3% from the March Poll)
It should also be noted that 49% of Republican voters believed that undocumented immigrants should be given a chance to apply for legal status vs. the 45% who said "deport them".
In an April USA Today/Gallup poll 78% said that they favored allowing illgal immigrants before january a path to apply for citizenship as long as they meet all of the requirements.
An April Washington Post/ABC News poll suggested that 62% of respondents said that “illegal immigrants who are living andworking in the United States now (should be offered a chance to keep their jobs and eventually apply for legal status)”
An april CNN/Opinion Research Poll suggested 77% of respondents favored a program that would allow “illegal immigrants alreadyliving in the United States for a number of years to stay in this country and apply for U.S.citizenship if they had a job and paid back taxes." while just 21% opposed such a program.
A March University of Iowa Poll when given these 4 options; CHOSE NUMBER 3 !!
1) deport all undocumented immigrants,
2) allow undocumentedimmigrants to remain in the U.S. to work for a limited amount of time (a guest workerprogram),
3) allow undocumented immigrants to become U.S. citizens if they meet certain requirements like learning English and paying back taxes (earned citizenship), or
4) allowundocumented immigrants to become permanent residents with no requirements (amnesty)
The Field Poll, in March, stated that 83% of Californians agreed with those in Iowa, by saying that they favor the creation of a program that would allow undocumented immigrants “who have been living in the U.S. for a number of years anopportunity to stay in this country and apply for citizenship if they have a job, learned English and paid back taxes"
A March Cal State Univ. Sacramento study found 71% said that current undocumented workers should be allowed to stay in the country if they meet requirements.
88% OF LATINOS FAVORED THE SAME
And so did 56% of Republicans.
Pew Research Center for People & The Press, Gallup/USA Today, and Quinnipac University among many others also have similar polls that have been consistent since the November 2006 elections.
The Gallup study for this first half of the year stated that at least 6 in 10 Americans favor allowing illegal immigrants a chance to become U.S. citizens if they meet certain requirements. Requirements like for example Speaking English which
to no surprise according to the US Census Bureau and the Department of Homeland Security (Bureau of Citizenship and Immigrant Services) within 10 years of arrival 75% of immigrants speak English well. Also ask any ESL teacher and they will tell you that the demand for their services are far greater than the supply. To no surprise completely different than the trash outline that you have taken from your boys Lou Dobbs and the Minutemen

ReplyDeleteIt didn't take long to show you where audacious epigone stands on the racist charts. Heres a quote from his May 30th blog post, that shouldn't suprise any of you:
"The pragmatic 'comprise' most Americans are willing to go along with is that which stops the unfettered inundation of the US with impoverished, culturally-backward, uneducated, intellectually uncurious, low IQ, diseased Hispanic hordes."
or a June 3rd post where he says:
"More disturbing than what it does or who it affects is how it is contracted--through oral-fecal transmission. It is most common in third-world countries where pigs are allowed to roam and have access to human fecal material. In the great circle of life, the pigs eat the night soil, and then the people eat the pigs. Then they come to the US and work in the restaurant industry, bringing their unique hygienic practices--consisting of irregular washing of hands or clothes--and spreading the tapeworm to the consuming public. The world's leading economy, on the cutting edge of technology, is taking in folks who let the swine they eat feast on human feces."
not to mention the constant labeling of immigrants as "Menials" and "peasants" during his May 27th and other posts.
That pretty much sums up the Minutemen mentality.

ReplyDeleteLegal "Hispanic" (wink-wink):
I am pretty sure that 6 months of polls and studies, almost all with multiple options for the voters to choose from definitely outweighs the 1 poll that you reference to and the ridiculous lies that you spill. For example:
"The same majority sees illegal aliens as law-breakers and sees outfits like those in COHO as pit-bulls who will gang up on anyone who strays from the approved party-line and are not above using thirdworld tactics of slander, calumny and character assassination."
Let's not pretend as if you speak for the majority of Latinos in this country; or that you even care as you are more worried about your "lana" and pronouncing your name in a manner in which nobody will think that you are a "mojado" than you are about any issues that affect the Latino community.
But I guess you have to do what you have to do to carry on the spoken word of your idols and get your Lou Dobbs & Kris Kobach signed hood.
You mention Working men and women in this country, who are most definitely being attacked, but not by immigrants, but by the corporations and the lobbyists that are intentionally exploiting workers not only here but abroad. The ethnocentrists, Pochito, are the state& national elected officials (mostly republican), and those that support their campaigns, that want to pass the blame on immigrants instead of their golf buddies.
Where's the Minutemen pressure on Republican Elected Officials to upset their corporate buddies and hold them accountable? Where's your pressure? Truth there is none when it counts because with the current Republican immigration policy, both Minutemen and their party win! Heres how:
Minutemen organizations make money from your donations through the fear fundraising campaign letters that they send out and plus they won't get to see brown people unless it's people like yourself that will join them for taco tuesday or Cinco de Mayo at the local tavern; but under one condition: No Spanish and Pronounce your name different. Meanwhile, Republicans don't upset their Corporate friends, bring in the dough during campaign season scaring the daylights out of rural and suburban America AND earn the wedge vote of fools like you!
Since you claim to be so concerned about working men and women in this country, it's funny that the same conservative officials that you and Lou Dobbs support because of immigration are the same ones that are taking away health care, slashing education and trying to union-bust all around the country, so that our working men and women make next to nothing, their health care is down the toilet, and the pensions of retirees are out the window.
Those of us that have lived in Latin America and cared to communicate with the community know that illegal immigrants don't come here with the aspirations of working for below minimum wage salaries, in slave like conditions in order take over the country and the national language. They come here because of the stories of a beautiful land and opportunity for their families. They come here because of the fantasy-like stories passed from their families and thinking that they are going to make the very wages that our working men and women make; but are slapped with reality when they get here. Your notion that immigrants are excited about going through the life of a “second class citizen” and having their kids called “Anchor babies” is that of disgust. Anyone that has watched immigrants go through the process of obtaining a visa know that it's hell, especially for those with darker skin and whose English isn't the best; which in turn usually means that their pockets aren’t full of dollars like other fortunate applicants . Congratulations on being able to afford your visa with no sweat, by receiving your visa through your educational institute or by receiving one through your fortunate work situation; you are one of the minority of people who have had the pleasure to live comfortable in Latin America. However, let's not start bashing those, the majority of applicants, who aren't as fortunate as some of us, and did in fact go hungry some nights for playing the pay, wait and be let down game for years.
Also since you claim to be so worried about the future of our hard-working men and women, and you know that we can't, won't and shouldn't just deport 12 million people, how about we start using our brains and get them on progress towards citizenship, among other things, make them pay the $5,000US per person (which would be a major part of a family’s annual income who is probably making below poverty level), pass a criminal background check, allow their children to get educated through opportunities like the DREAM Act, and give them the right to organize under these greedy corporations so that they can make a living wage and receive 1st class health benefits like the rest of us. Also let’s actually hold our corporations accountable making sure that they are ethical both locally and internationally and not intentionally exploiting or contaminating other countries for the sake of petty profit. Yes, the Mexican government is corrupt but that is stemmed from 70+ years of foreign, mainly American corporations lobbying the crap out of their elected officials and literally buying their votes. You blame the Mexican government but yet say nothing of the same corporations and the same corrupt cronies that are doing the exact same things here in the United States. Those are the real people “aiding and abetting criminal enterprises”.
How about also expediting the nationalization process exponentially if immigrants join the military for 10 years? How about our elected officials start tossing in reasonable and intelligent ideas as well instead of continuing with their uneducated, racist and prejudice path? Supporting Comprehensive Immigration Reform, doesn’t mean supporting the “Amnesty” that your Lou Dobbs talking points suggest, it means realistic and intelligent ideas, which is what according to consistent Gallup Poll studies show that the majority of people regardless of the party affiliation and ethnicity want. We can do all of that, while protecting our borders (notice FOX News rarely mentions the northern border where the terrorists of 9/11 actually came from and where much of our drug trafficking also comes from).
With regards to your just pathetic comments on COHO, La Raza, Rita Valenciano and others, I am laughing at the extent in which you go to follow the actions of people like Malkin, Limbaugh, Levin, Dobbs and a few more that live to call people anything that sounds bad. First you call people organizations like COHO, La Raza, Rita Valenciano, I and majority of Latinos “Communist Elite” and then you call them “Totalitarian”. Anyone of intelligence and beginner knowledge of the politics would know that those two ideologies are on two completely opposite ends of the political spectrum. But then again so is your politics, of bashing immigrants and then claiming to support working men and women and then turning to support politicians that pander to the corporations that exploit both immigrants and the working men and women; who I should mention are the same people.
Just because 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants proudly hang the flag of their ancestors doesn't mean that their love for the USA is less than that of yours and mine. You walk through streets of New York, Boston and Chicago on any given day or attend Jewish, Greek, Irish etc festivals and you will see just as many flags of other countries and here just as much "foreign" language spoken as those within Latino Communities. But it is Spanish that is used to fill the message of a potential takeover in national language.
Versions of our National Anthem are on file within the Congressional archives and have so beautifully blessed the streets of our communities and the halls of the White House in just about every language in this world, on more than one occasion; but of course Fox News and your favorite anchors chose the Spanish version for their fear mongering messages.
But yet you call other people misinformed racists who are blurring the message? I would say that Racist is making comments like white people need to start having babies so that this country isn’t majority Hispanic, or immigration is changing the “complexion” or the “ethnic landscape” of America, or participating in a Republican National Debate on CNN and saying that immigrants that come here must leave their country and previous life behind them. That’s misinformed racism!
You go out of your way to bash people like Rita Valenciano and many other hard working men and women in the community who have actually been out in the community since way before your days. While you were busy eating enchiladas suizas at your local Sanborn’s or shopping at your local Zara or Palacio de Hierro, or locking yourself in your new car because you are too good to take public transportation with all of the working class Mexicans, people like Ms. Valenciano have been in defending this local Kansas City Latino community. When other “leaders” of the Latino business community were busy deciding how to pronounce their name to sound more business, and were busy moving voting precincts in the Latino community, Rita Valenciano and many others were out registering voters and trying to defend this community from being walked all over. While you are busy checking the “White Hispanic/Latino” box on your newer government forms, Ms. Valenciano has been active in trying to end the days of when immigrants and 2nd generation immigrants who find money, like yourself, try to separate themselves from new immigrants by moving out of the community and acting as though they have forgotten what struggle their parents and grandparents went through. And she, unlike many leaders in many different communities, has not asked for a penny for the vast majority of her work.
You keep spinning the Frances Semler situation as if she were some former or retired Minutemen member; when in fact she is very active in organizing marches, donating and even has conducted interviews on national television channels like CNN; where has stated that she is against ALL immigration. That is a very extreme point of view in which deserves the label “nativist extremism” along with a vast number of other labels that many people would place upon it; not just Latinos. That is an extreme point of view that deserves no part of governmental actions within a city that has struggled for years to fully integrate its communities. The Mayor’s staff should have been aware of it, and when Semler was asked by the Star she should have not tried to give a watered down view of her participation. It’s hard to take her word for it, when the President of that same Nativist Extremist organization confirms her participation.
While you keep making up excuses for the same racists that make up the far right under 40% of the Republican party I am going to send Mil Gracias ! to Tony, Rita Valenciano, Cris Medina, Beth Gottstein, John Sharp, The KC Star and all of the other people that have spoken out against the Mayor’s decision to keep Semler on the board. Do not for one minute believe that you are doing an injustice to this community just because a friend of Semler, that calls himself/herself “Hispanic” only for the purpose of this conversation, and maybe to place him/herself in certain white collar business circles, speaks out.
Bogus poll numbers? No, bogus polls are those that mischaracterize what is being asked. The NYT 'found' a majority of Americans support S1348 by asking about specific provisions, standing alone, that were in some indirect way tied to the bill.
ReplyDeleteWhen Rasmussen asked about the bill directly, it found overwhelming opposition to S1348.
To the one who excerpts a few sentences of what I've written to attempt to marginalize--will you respond to the points I've put forward, or merely ostracize for what you see as heresy?
I was referring to the results of unfettered immigration, not describing all Hispanic immigrants, which is made clear in the excerpts full context. I want a merit immigration system, and am not opposed to Hispanic immigration as such.
But let's go through it point-by-point:
Impoverished: By national standards, illegal immigrants are clearly thus.
Culturally-backward: Machismo, or the propensity to engage in sexual activity with adolescents, or anti-Semitism.
Uneducated: Harvard economist George Borjas has found that the average Mexican immigrant to the US has the equivalent of an 8th grade education.
Intellectually uncurious: The high-school graduation rate of Hispanics is lower than that of blacks, and international surveys have found that the average Mexican reads one book every six months.
Low IQ: This is the most controversial, but I've done the legwork. Rigorous and meticulous statistical analysis suggests that Hispanic immigration, is, on average, lowering the average IQ of the Southwestern states as measured by NAEP performance.
Diseased: Chagas, tuberculosis, syphillis, and gonohrea were all virtually non-existent in the US two decades ago. No longer.
Please point out where your disputes lie, and I will provide you with ample source material that backs up my claims.
Por La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada.

ReplyDeleteReal Latino; The Big Lie didn't work for Adolph Hitler and it certaily won't help to cover the load of manure that is Hispanic racism. You've already posted most of what you haul in your coment on another coment board and I already blew it out of the water, so I'll only address whatever new trash you've managed to develop.
I never stated that I spoke for the majotrity of Latinos, yet the silent majority of Hispanic U.S. citizens are aghast at our government adopting pragmatic third world approaches to law enforcement issues. That you see it as a racial issue only underscores the reality of speciffic classes of individuals who have chosen to abuse the good will of our citizens.
As to why they come here, let's not be overly deluded. Ilelgals would rather be in their countries, but, if we look at Mexico, theirs are countries where the government works for special interests and have fostered policies that have resulted in 40% of their population living at or below the UN's poverty level, and an additional 12% living below the UN's Misery level. Is it our obligation to assume the responsibility of a cleptocracy whose president has openly encouraged illegal immigration? I think not.
I'll tell you what is sad. Those who obtained their citizenship through the several amnesties KNOW, that theirs is a purloined status. Their paperwork may be clear, but theirs is a moral stain that dyes their "self" with the truth of their delincuency and the ratiionale for their offspring. Why do Hispanic families of recently arrivals have such awful statistics? Could it be that the parents saw their children as an opportunity and not a duty? Having children for the wrong reasons is a sure-fire prescription to ensure a troubled youth and a life fit to be spent as a mental health patient. Regardless of my opinion on birthright citizenship of illegal alien offspring; Having a child to have an argument against deportation is definitely the wrong reason to have a child.
An immigrant is a person who inmigrates in accordance with the laws of the receptor country. Those who enter like thieves in the night or with visas obtained with false pretenses are engaging in an illegal act that is an asaault upon the sovereignty of the nation.
When I lived in Mexico, and the many times I've been there since to visit my signifficant other and our children, I worked in one environment and lived in another. I've had lunch at the best restaurants in that city and I've eaten tacos at fondas in the Doctores Colony. I've broken bread with the wealthy and with their warehouse employees. I'venever shopped at Zara, and Palacio de Hierro struck me always as too pricey for their wares. Maybe you found it "Just right". My car in Mexico was the same car I drove here. My Company Car was provided by my employer, but that didn't stop me from taking a"el Metro" a few times.
When Rita Valenciano attacks another person, that is not: "defending this local Kansas City Latino community". Explain to me how Rita was defending the Community from "being walked all over"? Are you implying that Kansas City might be such a backwards racist town that were it not for Rita-Mil-Mascaras, the community would have been doomed? Give me a break, sistah... I take care of my parents, and I take care of my community. Sadly, my parents came here LEGALLY, and while Rita was out running for office and heading a pro-amnesty organization that exists through the largesse of its tax-exempt status, I was working 60 hour weeks to get ahead and provide for my people.
Frances may be "organizing marches, donating and even has conducted interviews on national television channels like CNN", but there is no evidence of her engaging in racist behavior as she was carelessly slandered by your apparent beatified politica. Her involvement may be one of a clerical nature. Do you have a quote of her stating that she's against all immigration and not lower levels of immigration? Given the impact of H1B and H2B visas, most IT profesionals who have been displaced by cheap imports would also fall into that category.
One thing is to "integrate" another is to encourage unlawful acts.
I too wi thank the intolerant few that have placed this serious issue of socio-political bullying in the limelight.

HA,ha,ha,ha,ha... Ay "Real Latino"... Me das pena ajena... As I pointed out, when given extreme options of massive round-ups or massive amnesty, Americans will lean towards tolerance even if it grinds against ethics. The polls you mentioned only gave these two options but left out the real option of attrition through enforcement.
Here's a shocker for a flock mentality hack like you, The Minutemen and other organizations like "You don't speak for me" not only have Hispanics in their membership, but in the case of YDSFM the leadership is Hispanic. For no Cultural Diversity, let me steer you to your intellectual brethren at MECHA and their etnic cleansing plan for the "Nacion de Aztlan" and the "Mexica" organization which makes the anachronistic KKK seem like a bunch of milquetoasts.
Unlike you, I don't see every Lou Dobbs show.
Darling, look at the party platforms. With the exception of the "God, Guns & Gays" issues. both parties seem to be cojoined twins. The gilded elites are the ones pulling the strings and tetnocentrist organizations like COHO are all to glad to earn their grant money by promoting abundant, cheap, compliant and illegal alien labor. Unions have moved into the illegal alien love in led by SEIU's leadership (President) which at one time was an illegal alien advocate and may have seen the Union as a likely "trojan Horse" to advance his personal agenda by recruiting illegal alien laborers and giving them a politica voice. The AFL=CIO has distanced itself from the Amnesty debate as they understand the noxious effect of an amnesty upon their membership.
The $5,000.00 bribe that Chappaquidick Ted would have illegals pay to regularize their status is a joke. According to research by Robert Rector, their per-capita short cost easily renders that bribe as the chump-change it is.
Does race matter if you are in the commision of a continuous criminal enterprise? If a police officer asks me about my status and were to require me to produce identity documents, I would not be offended as I do look and sound like a foreigner. There is a small price to pay in the two or three minutes wasted while his curiosity is satisfied, but such would be a light cost to pay to avert another death by a drunk illegal alien driver. Now, if we were to fine and incarcerate employers, landlords and employees of organizatiions who aid and abett illegal aliens to arrive or remain in the country, we could easily make much more money since each employer would be liable to the tune of $5,000.00 per illegal alien employee as would every landlord and tax-exempt organization (like those in COHO).
Well, when I travelled to Sout America, I used to get my baggage searched by Customs on a regular basis. Since I had no contraband, I just didn't pack my stuff very neatly on the return leg. Was it "profiling"? Probably. Was I offended by it? Absolutely not. You stated: "With regards to the literacy statistic, the 225,000 people are American Citizens/ Permanent Residents"; It would seem that you should contact the local school board. Naturalized citizens should be able to understand English to take the citizenship test. I believe that is what the law states; doesn't it?
As to your observation on the policy of extending citizenship privileges to the children of illegal aliens, I believe that the intent of the framers of the XIV ammendment was to protect the citizenship of freedmen stated in the XIII ammendment. The Supreme Court decision on which this policy hangs is one of a child of Chinese immigrants who were bought as slaves in China and shipped, with no intent of their own or input on their destination, to the US. That stands in stark contrast with the conscious and volntary act of the illegal alien. If you ask the Mexican Consul, he'll tell you that the US-born children of Illegal aliens from his country are Mexican Citizens, and I would have to be in agreement with the 30th article of the Mexican Constitution.
The current tsunami of immigration from Latin America refuses to be assimilated. Their native countries consulates labor arduously to nurture theri connection to their homelands in order to stimulate cash remittances and to ensure that their foreign agenda is articulated through their citizens who are able to vote.
The only flag that waves over my stoop has 50 stars. You may not ba able to help wher you are born, but you are able to decide who you are and where your loyalties lie.
The U.S. Anthem should be sung in the official language of the country. In Mexico, singing the Mexican anthem in English will get you some jail time as messi around with patriotic symbols is not taken lightly. Bor should it be.
The Mexicans, make up the majority of the illegal aliens from Latin America who make up the bulk of illegal aliens. The most active promoters and organizers of the marches were the Spanish language media who recognized that if the Sensebrenner bill passed, their investments would wither in the absence of an audience.
I've yet to call yoou anything other than ignorant and bigotted. Here's a shocker for you: I voted for Carter, Clinton, Gore and Kerry(Bonzo would be a genius next to "Curious George"). My vote goes to the issue and leaders, it won't goose-step to any party like the NCLR flunkies would have us do.
What is sad is to see large and powerful organizations engaging in slander and calumny against a senior citizen who has no former political experience. Keeping Frances Semler off the Commision does not support the Latino Community, unless the bilingual positions planed are being eyed to be used as ethnic cronyism for Hispanic activists.

ReplyDeleteLH wants a very extreme un-American America which above a lot of other things Hispanic wants a government that can freely " fine and incarcerate" those "who aid and abett illegal aliens"?
The way LH is explaining it they also supports legislation that leaves the door open for law enforcement to determine what is the limit. That is seriously extreme. So I would assume that would include landlords, latino organizations, which you did mention, as well as churches, ESL teachers, universities, elementary schools, high schools, doctors, lawyers, pro-bono law firms like SPLC, and community health clinics? And you are calling other people "totalitarian"?
Children of US Citizens born abroad are eligible to receive dual citizenship, it happens all of the time in the military, but Hispanic thinks that children of immigrants born in the US shouldn't be given that same right.
Remember that whole "working men and women" talk that LH tried to give? Seems that one has been tossed out of the window as Hispanic doesn't support working men and women's right to organize and receive equal pay and benefits. Not to mention, although L.H. mentions throwing corporations in jail for hiring illegal immigrants they say nothing about holding them additionally responsible for their refusal to offer a livable salary and benefits to the working and lower class folks that this city was built by. Also, they fail to mention holding corporations responsible for going internationally and not paying a single dime in taxes and bullying around foreign governments; many of which have lower GDPs than the corporation itself.
In the end, plain and simple, LH doesn't give a care about anyone but well...the person hiding behind the name Legal Hispanic. Which is fine; but don't chime in on social issues you the only person in society you care about is yourself.
According to Legal Hispanic, Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is only good for those that can afford it and distinguish themselves from the blue collar class.
It's a classic mentality of forget where you came from and failure to remember where this country came from. Someone posted on one of these articles that we shouldn't compare these people to those European Immigrants from the end of the 1800s-beginning of the 1900s. Why not? There is no difference?
They were the poor coming to look for a better life. There were people like LH that had made it and felt they were above the new immigrants in status. There were people like audacious epigone that ran around calling them disease infested hordes and menials and peasants. And the KKK enrollment found it's boom during this movement, as it was created as a Nativist Extremist/Anti-Immigrant organization using many of the same style of propaganda and messages that the Minutemen and the KKK of today use. Those that supported them, also used Our Borders and National Security and the "change in complexion" and "ethnic landscape" as it's selling point.
In the end, they had less laws to worry about and could freely harm whoever they felt like harming, because small town law would support them. But that's where the circle comes back to; remember LH's talk about giving up our civil rights as a community and all of that mess about incarcerating everyone that aids the "illegals"? We've heard and seen that before; and don't want to go back to those days. But then again, I guess that would have been before LH arrived here...an arrival I should remind all which was inspired by the hard work and fight inside of those that had to suffer the punishment and second class life in order to give LH, myself and many others like us an opportunity.
"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

(1)
(A) Any person who—
(i) knowing that a person is an alien, brings to or attempts to bring to the United States in any manner whatsoever such person at a place other than a designated port of entry or place other than as designated by the Commissioner, regardless of whether such alien has received prior official authorization to come to, enter, or reside in the United States and regardless of any future official action which may be taken with respect to such alien;
(ii) knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, transports, or moves or attempts to transport or move such alien within the United States by means of transportation or otherwise, in furtherance of such violation of law;
(iii) knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, conceals, harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place, including any building or any means of transportation;
(iv) encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law; or
(v)
(I) engages in any conspiracy to commit any of the preceding acts, or
(II) aids or abets the commission of any of the preceding acts,
shall be punished as provided in subparagraph (B).
(B) A person who violates subparagraph (A) shall, for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs—
(i) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(i) or (v)(I) or in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(ii), (iii), or (iv) in which the offense was done for the purpose of commercial advantage or private financial gain, be fined under title 18, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both;
(ii) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(ii), (iii), (iv), or (v)(II), be fined under title 18, imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both;
(iii) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(i), (ii), (iii), (iv), or (v) during and in relation to which the person causes serious bodily injury (as defined in section 1365 of title 18) to, or places in jeopardy the life of, any person, be fined under title 18, imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both; and
(iv) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(i), (ii), (iii), (iv), or (v) resulting in the death of any person, be punished by death or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, fined under title 18, or both.
(C) It is not a violation of clauses [1] (ii) or (iii) of subparagraph (A), or of clause (iv) of subparagraph (A) except where a person encourages or induces an alien to come to or enter the United States, for a religious denomination having a bona fide nonprofit, religious organization in the United States, or the agents or officers of such denomination or organization, to encourage, invite, call, allow, or enable an alien who is present in the United States to perform the vocation of a minister or missionary for the denomination or organization in the United States as a volunteer who is not compensated as an employee, notwithstanding the provision of room, board, travel, medical assistance, and other basic living expenses, provided the minister or missionary has been a member of the denomination for at least one year.
So you see “Virginia” not only there is a Santa, but immigration law already considers the acts of COHO to be a crime punishable by fine and/or imprisonment plus there are provisions for seizure and forfeiture of assets.
As to what is the “limit”, I believe the law to be explicit when it states: “Any person who” engages in such criminal activity.
Children of US servicemen born abroad are U.S. citizens by jus sanguinis. The countries where they are born may consider them “citizens” but I believe the current fad of dual citizenship is in contravention with the framers of the Constitution as the War of 1812 was fought precisely over dual citizenship issues dealing with conscription of US seamen into the British Navy. Further, the Oath of citizenship states innequivocally: “hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen”. Seems pretty clear what our citizenship encompasses.
Once again, you prevaricate…I do “support working men and women's right to organize and receive equal pay and benefits.” However, illegal aliens are in violation of the law and thus would not be eligible to work and /or need said rights. As to the bullying of foreign governments by multinationals, I believe in non-intervention in another country’s internal affairs. They are responsible to their people to protect them from the adverse socio-economic climate, and if they don’t do their job, theirs, at least Mexico, are democratic republics, so they should be voted out like the bums they are.
Au contraire mon ami… I care about these countries, but I don’t see how leaving a capsizing ship is going to help righting it. Rather than abandoning their countrymen while they get theirs, the hard choice would be to labor for a real and substantial socioeconomic change . Not the smoke and mirrors laser show that Vicente Fox promised “ hoy, hoy, hoy” I knew he was a fake since he offered to open the McKay FOBAPROA disks with a made-up code during a press conference of presidential candidates. Hacks like those who have fed at the taxpayers trough for the majority of their working years, like the representatives of many COHO organizations, only care about numbers to justify increased contributions from municipalities, so-called philanthropists and the federal government.
“Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” is a phrase found in the Declaration of Independence and is not part of the Constitution. I believe that everybody should pursue them, but in accordance with the laws of the place they are in. In the U.S., if you are here illegally, obviously you are not entitled to anything other than swift trial.
One of the differences between the immigrants of bygone years is the fact that illegal immigrants come into being as legal term after the 1924 immigration bill. Prior to that date, there was no such figure in law or jurisprudence. However, many foreigners were turned back for not being sane, healthy, or because they were likely to be a burden to the country. Also, back in those days, the country was in expansion. That is not the case today, unless we were to garrison troops again in our southern neighbor’s capital as in the time of Winfield Scott. It is not so much that the US took the Southwest; we returned to then the rest of their country that we didn’t want or need.
The same fear mongering tactics used by the KKK and denounced by real Latina are precisely the ones being blandished by Rita Valenciano and her COHO cohorts.
The social contract implied in a society requires the cession of some rights in consideration of where the rights of others begin. Producing identification when so required is not an unbearable imposition. Illegal aliens when ticketed for DUI have to be fingerprinted on the back of the ticket so the “System” may be able to track them down if they are ticketed again. Instead of applying current laws to remove drunk drivers from our streets, Corwins keystone cop orders require letting tehm go after ticketing them. Does that not sound like an accommodation to anarchy?
Since you probably don’t read anything that is contrary to that ideological and demagogical echo chamber above your shoulders, let me repeat again: Both my parents were present legally in the country at all times.
Well, you’ve tried the law and that didn’t work. You’ve tried misconstruing matters and that didn’t work. So now, you “Hail Mary” is a sonnet written by an early Jewish nationalist who advocated for a Jewish state in Palestine as early as the 1880s. Oddly enough, Hispanic immigrants are considered to be anti-zionists as many in th MEChista movement refer to themselves as America’s Palestinians… Real Latina, I believe that one “clanged” as it too missed.
Sorry for the lengthy reply to RL’s prevarications, but ignorance, racism and intolerance go hand in hand. ReplyDeleteDo not let LH's conservative spin on history fool you into believing that radical ridiculous mentality.
LH acted in one post that she supports "working men and women" but in the next post called unions hate groups and radicals. Then she sated "However, illegal aliens are in violation of the law and thus would not be eligible to work and /or need said rights." which was a statement that should direct you to her mentality of immediately rounding up all estimated 12 million "illegals", and deport them.
That is as you know a mentality that doesn't do anything for the progression of a logical, educated, solution.
"In the U.S., if you are here illegally, obviously you are not entitled to anything other than swift trial." is another comment that should lead you to her extremist conservative, lost, backward mentality that does nothing for the good of this country; but unfortunately is shared by many (thank God less than 45%) of her racist, prejudice "cuates" on the right. It also conflicts with the reality of the situation in a couple of ways:
1) The Patriot Act eliminated that "swift trial" that they are entitled to.
2) Your round up and deport mentality also conflicts with the realities of the situation, and invades the civil rights of American Latinos, in that the only way a round up and deport mentality can be done is by rounding up all "perceived" illegal immigrants, which will include legal immigrants, their families and friends and citizens that may not be able to provide proper identification when rounded up.
Eventhough I love this country and look for a logical solution for comprehensive immigration reform, Your ideas for America on this topic and that of your ideological "cuates" on most topics are not of a place where the majority of Americans want to go. Period. We saw how that played out when we did the same to Asians in this country during the early 1900s.
Because of your comfortable economic status, and apparent luck of never having to had dealt or at the very least recently never having to had dealt with racial or prejudicial experiences (que suertuda!), your dependence on laws in books makes you look past the abuses in the enforcement of them; which I should remind readers, you have stated you are perfectly ok with, once in a while, as long as it gets the job done or in this example deports all illegals (who you label as drunks).
That same mentality again is shared by those of the extreme conservative right movement; which I should remind you lies much closer on the political spectrum to "Totalitarianism" than the politics of the people you libel.
"As to the bullying of foreign governments by multinationals, I believe in non-intervention in another country’s internal affairs. They are responsible to their people to protect them from the adverse socio-economic climate, and if they don’t do their job, theirs, at least Mexico, are democratic republics, so they should be voted out like the bums they are."
I would agree with you that many of the elected officials in Mexico are "bums" whose best interest are not in line with that of the voters that put them in. However, your comments again do not reflect the realities of the situation at hand and the mentality of that which are in tune with the world we live in.
Legal Hispanic in typical fashion fails to place the blame Multinational Corporations (MNCs) and Transnational Corporations (TNCs) who prey on developing nations. While in a third world or developing nation exploiting the people, TNCs typically keep their financial headquarters offshore which will in turn protect them from having to pay any taxes to that country.
Through the use of international capital flows these corporations typically establish subisidaries that prey on weaker economic nations, which allow them to "cut and run" during economic hardships without any financial obligations to the countries; who in turn lose on the deal because of their foreign investment in the company.
In the case of the Mexico-US border Maquiladoras are placed in tax-free industrial zones, which in turn allow the corporation to get rich tax-free while the municipalities are sucked dry financially and the government is not able to provide adequate public services for the rush of people looking to take care of their families; even if it is making less than $4 USD per day to produce thousands of products that are turned around and sold for $100+ dollars.
For more than 15 years the UN Center on Transnational Corporations (CTC) had a Code of Conduct for Transnational Corporations, but through corporate pressure the US unfortunately eliminated that.
It should be said, that the same corporations do much of the same in our own country, with just a little more pay. States with "Right to Work" (add: for next to nothing) Legislations allow corporations to come in and provide a lower standards on worknig conditions, pay, benefits, and proper legal representation; so that they can do the very same not only to immigrants (legal and illegal) but to working class blue collar citizens in need.
Even with her probably knowledge of all of this, LH and her friends like Frances Semler say they are for the "Worker" and for "society" but pass the blame onto the immigrant and support legislators who push for this very political example of exploitation.
But yet you (and nutcases like Frances Semler, and Gabriel whatever who probably changed his name pronunciation anyways to run with his Republican Friends) say that I and good people like Lali Garcia, Rita Valenciano, those speaking out against Semler (ex: Cindy Circo, Beth Gottstein, Jan Marcason, Cathy Jolly, John Sharp, Melba Curls, Terry Riley), the Labor Organizations speaking out against corporations, anti-worker conservative republicans, bigotry and racism, and of course you, Lou Dobbs, Mark Levin and Gabriel won't let us forget Democrats have "compromised morals"?? I and the majority of Americans beg to differ.
It's not our mentality that mirrors that of the Aliend Land Laws of the early 1900s. Its not our mentality that requests a 12 million person round up that mirrors that of the Japanese American Internment, it's not our mentality that places anti-worker/pro-corporation republican legislators into office, it's not our mentality that mirrors that of Extremist Natavist, Anti-Immigrant, Anti-GLBT organizations like the Minutemen and all of the other hate organizations and groups that those who know Frances Semler know that she belongs to. It's yours.
I do not and did not " “Hail Mary” is a sonnet written by an early Jewish nationalist who advocated for a Jewish state in Palestine as early as the 1880s.", I simply wrote that of a poem that is inscribed on a bronze plaque inside the pedestal of a statue that was given to the US by France in 1886, a statue that is now the symbol of Democracy, The Statue of Liberty.
Ja,ja,ja,ja,ja... Que payasa me has salido... Este "conservador" voto por Carter, Clinton, Gore y Kerry. Lo que pasa es que por fin te has dado con la horma de tu zapato y te molesta que te enmienden la plana.
ReplyDeleteHa,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha... What a clown you've turned out to be... This "conservative" has voted for Carter, Clinton, Gore and Kerry. What happens is that you've finally run into real opposition to your racist yammering and it bothers you to lose face over your lies.
Before we go further, I dress left in my trousers. As I've corrected you before, I support a policy of attrition through the stringent enforcement of current laws and the deputizing of local law enforcement and agencies. This will not only ensure that the illegals have a chance to leave on their own, but would also whittle back the cover and concealment of illegals who use the Hispanic comunity to conceal and cover their criminal activities.
As an American citizeen, My recommendations should only seek to promote the progression of a logical, educated, solution in favor of my fellow citizens and legal residents in that order of priority.
Well dahling, I believe that the Constitution guarantees a swift trial, so I guess our founding fathers shared that "extremist conservative, lost, backward mentality that does nothing for the good of this country; but unfortunately is shared by many (thank God less than 45%) of her racist, prejudice "cuates" on the right"
Well Sweetie, I already have stated that illegal immigration is a statutory crime in that it matters not wether you are caught or noticed by autorities, since by being in contravention of the law, you are in violation of the same. In other words, Your actions made you guilty, it is just a matter of determining if you'll just get repatriated or spend some time engaged in the ecological reclamation and beautification of the trash strewn border areas turned into dumps by the hordes of illegals and their coyotes.
Nice play... Personally, I would like to point out the differences between the Japanese interment camps and the exercise of stringent and evenhanded immigration, Banking, identity theft or fraud and labor law enforcement. First of all, at the time, the U.S. was reeling from an unprovoked attack upon American soil by a large aero-naval Japanese contingent; while the present situation is the actual infiltration and settlement of millions of foreigners into our sovereign territory. It should be obvious to anyone which instance is a more serious affront of the law and sovereignty.
Well, that is not quite true, I'm currently dealing with a sexist wuss, however, for its bland brand of insolence to be effective, it has to rise beyond the point of an amusing nuisance. As to the laws in the books, let me remind you that there are laws that protect the civil rights of citizens and legal and illegal residents. As to deporting all illegals; let's be realistic. There will always be some illegals, however twelve to thirty million sounds a bit too much... If I had that kind of a problem with my JOCO squirels, I too would consider getting, at least, a wrist rocket.
Ahhh, watch as RH smoothly engages in the sociopolitical smear of generalizations... Smooth move ex-lax... However, you are way off target. Enforcing the laws of our land is less akin to totalitarianism than the amneesty lobby is to their political and ecoonomic contributors of communist, Socialist and anarchist ilk. Let's not forget that the lords of capital would like a weak US so they may sway policies with more ease than they otherwise would have to.
Well, if you've lived there, then you probably should think that not only are they "bums", they engage in unethical and often criminal conduct which goes unpunished. Here's a button of a sample. The development at Punta Diamante near Acapulco. Want another one? How about the institutionalized ransacking of the economy by the Banking establishment (Salinas privatized the usually risk adverse banking industry by selling the banks to risk taking stock-brokers and other shady operators) in which the cases of Banca Cremi, and the National indebtedness in the thousands of millions has sunk the country into a real funk. Go ahead. Look into how Fox gave away tax revenue to their cronies in the sale of BANAMEX. In that country, there are as many scandals as there are days. And I've yet to touch on the impunity over the Masacre of Aguas Blancas nor the assasination of Lucio Cabanas. There's the dead women of Ciudad Juarez, but in reality that is not an isolated phenomena as wemen disapear throughout that country where the authorities only care about Mexicanos if they can send money. How come Rita and the rest of the COHO COHORT has failed their people by letting the Mexican Consulate get away without making the responsible accountable for the outrages that have visited misery upon their ethnic brethren?
Here's the answer; Because the nail does not strike the hammer. In Mexico, she'll be perceived in her correct and insignificant dimension and could be subjected to Article 33 of the Mexican Constitution.
Multinationals go as far as their bribes purchase them rights to exert. If the politicos in Mexico and elsewhere would not be so "afrenta'os", or eager for a payoff, these innequities would not happen. However, I would concede that our governement is as much in cahoots with the multinationals and allow them to engage in practices that I wo not support. Most minutemen would also support revisiting NAFTA to ensure that Mexico has jobs and industries for their people. Now, if the ruling elites here and there were as considerate, we might have the begginings of social justice. As it has been, NAFTA only resulted in way-station for American jobs to be jettisioned to even cheaper manufacturing havens. So, I can agree that NAFTA has been disastrous for Mexico and should be derrogated. In the meantime, I am for the Worker; The American Worker, much in the same way as Vicente Fox should have been working for the Mexican worker in Mexico, not in the U.S. as he has absolutely no jurisdiction here in spite of his and Ernesto Cedillo's claim that Mexico is a country that extends beyond its borders. If one of our elected officials said that there would be anti-imperialist marches at every U.S. embassy in Latin America. starting with the one next to the Maria Isabel on Reforma.
I don't doubt that you, Rita and the rest of the Useful dolt brigade have "good intentions" and are intent on paving the road to hell with them. IT is the mantality of the ethnocentrist activist to have the law applied to everyone else but them and their "constituents"; because, after all is said and done, that is the prize that "La Raza" is playing for. If refusing the impossition by tens of millions of illegal aliens to be allowed entry into a socail contract they have not earned by respecting our laws and sovereignty isnot our mentality, what would you say then to a female rape victim. The situations of unwelcome attention, imposition of unwanted advances by force or emotional blackmail apper to be quite parallel. I guess your solution is to lean back and enjoy it?
So you quoted a poem from the base of a statue... Since you seem to be such an art fan, What is on the base of that boar's statue on the Plaza? In matters of law, they carry the same weight.
Now if you excuse me, I have a pressing engagement with a late dinner. I'll be glad to continue schooling you later.

ReplyDeleteLegal Hispanic cannot clear state anything.
With regrads to the part on "swift trials" I clearly refer to the "Patriot Act eliminating" them. Although you clearly pledge allegiance to his politics John Ashcroft was not a "founding father" of this country.
If you knew anything about history other than the propaganda you are obsessed with reading, than you would know that the first forms of the The Alien Land Laws and racial prejudice of Asian Immigration and other immigration started in the 1880s, long before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.
You also danced around all processes of corrupt international business probably because your lover Gabriel doesn't write abuot it in his columns. No surprise there.
But the biggest dance of all was that in which you avoided defending yours and your political idols like JD Hayworth's vision of rounding up 12 million people.
Post without your dance shoes next time poser.
RL, you must have a disability comprehending English.
ReplyDeleteI don't support the Patriot Act, but the guy on whom you are relying for hispronouncement of the Minutemen as "vigilantes" is the culprit for that bill, so you really try to have it both ways when you laud his judgement on one hand and condemn his legacy on the other. One of our constitutional guarantees is swift trial and the Constitution trumps the Patriot Act, regardless of what you may want to interpret in your distroted little world.
Well, those laws did not contemplate the legal term "ilegal alien", nor were there any immigration quotas on them. Clearly, illegal immigration is at the root of this entire flap which got Rita Valencianos undies in a bunch.
While the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, part of the rationale for the taking of The Phillippines as war booty atthe Treaty of Paris, in 1898, was the fact that other local powers such as Japan, along with Imperial Russia, the British and Germans were seeking to expand their holdings, so Japan was busy promoting iths sphere of economic prosperity way before the events that led to Pearl Harbor. The laws you cite were not immigration laws per-se, as they only dealt with a very limited scope of that matter.
Ther you go again... Prevaricating and twisting statements to fit yor needs. I've never said that we need to, as you say: "rounding up 12 million people". If laws presently in the books were applied; if municpalities applied to illegal immigration the same standard of enforcement they apply to drug traffic, another crime for which the Federal Government has an agency and whose interstate nature would make the same arguments made by the amnesty lobbyists applicable, then not only illegals would leave on their own and seeking "greener pastures", but corrupt employers, landlords and other opportunistic enterpreneurs would also end up cooling their heels in the local pen. No "rounding up would be necessary as they would leave as they came; individually and on their own dime.
Next time I pose I'll put on my dancing shoes, if I can finally dislodge them from your colon.
PS: I cruised the Minutemen lovefest this AM and there were more than twice the people there than at the COHO tantrum and press conference. Unlike COHO, I didn't have count the members of the press to reach that number... In this battle, on the field of public opinion, the amnesty lobby is taking it in the shorts. If they were smart, which they are not, and trust me on this as I know folks in COHO organizations, they will lead with their haughty egos and leave their minds behind.
The Minuteman demonstration was orderly, there was no shouting by them and most of the motorists honked their horns and waved as they passed. All in all a healthy display of first ammendment rights... You know, the ones Rita and the rest of the "wannabe-municipal-kingmaking-machine" want to suppress.
Next time, bring help. Your attempts at doubting of my "hispanicness" have fallen short. If I desired to turn the tables on you, the question for your malinchista bum would be: Are you American or a naturalized citizen; and if so, does the followng ring a bell"I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God."? Let's focus on: that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic",and how that appliesto twelve to thirty million foreigners who have imposed their wil upon our communities by trampling over our borders, breaking many of our laws and coopting our system with the aid of enablers against the will of the citizens.
You are but a light and puffed-up "bocadillo" with neither taste, substance nor zest. If you desire to, I can also handle your shallow demagogic rhetoric in Spanish.
Carecesde fundamentos para defender este atropello caprichoso y arbitrario. Sigue con las payasadas pues la unica que esta quedando como la payasa rancia, intolerante y acartonada eres tu.

ReplyDeleteHere's a very good column, from El Universal of Mexico City, that should give an insight into the Mexican ethnocentrist fantasy. Very worth runningthrouhg a translator like Babelfish... It's titled "Mexicanos" and it starts with: "The most extraordinary things make us Mexicans different albeit for the bad reasons" And it closes with: We are champions of the superlative shamelsness and ethnocentrism, but we don’t want to notice it. We are sybilline. We have well codified languages, we say things which in reality we don’t think nor feel, and whomever eras them knows that we neither tink nor feel them, but plays along with us. Or has anyone not told a person whom you hadn’t seen in many years how much pleasure it is to see them and that you’ll call so you can have some coffee, knowing both that this is not true? We rejoice ourselves feeding back the fantasy. Ultimately, we are different. Yes we are, no doubt, but not for the good reasons. We can continue thinking alike, after all the only thing we’ll lose is the future.
This cat knows his pride, and they are opportunistic predators.
"they are opportunistic predators."
ReplyDeleteThat's not bigoted at all.
A wonderful example of Minuteman supporters.

ReplyDeleteBut did you read the opinnion column? The guy is a Mexican in Mexico writing about Mexicans.
Rit, Ugly Bethy and the rest of teh Coho Cohort should read it as it fits them to a "tee".
Here's one of the fine feathered folks who are up in arms (literally) over Frances Semler's appointment... We certainly need more Hispanics like this one... I bet he's a fan of Rita Valenciano and Ugly Betthy:

Public safety: Man sought for questioning in Belton murder
BELTON | Police were looking Saturday for a man they want to question about a murder late Friday night.
The man, Avelino B. Tenorio, 29, is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
Anyone with information about Tenorio’s whereabouts should call Belton police at 816-331-1500 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
Police identified the murder victim as Mauricio Montell Blancas, 27, of Belton.
Just before midnight, police were called to the 100 block of East Hargis Street, where they found Blancas shot multiple times. Blancas was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead
Maybe Rita will say that SenorTenorio is an undercover Minuteman... when the truth is that we are receiving another countries socioeconomic ballast and rejects.
You are beyond being a prick. Go back to where ever the hell you came from.
