The many faces of Adam Taff
Yesterday, I noticed The Star celebrated Adam Taff getting out of jail in what had to be the warmest reception for a former con that the local media has ever given.
I wasn't the only one who noticed. Alonzo Washington filed a killer post regarding how the positive spin of the coverage was really just yet another example of white supremacy:
Here's proof:
Here is yesterday's front page photo of Taff and his wife looking hopeful about their future and and smiling while thinking about how to avoid talking about the guy's prison days or why he now eats with his hand protecting his plate at dinner and still regards cigarettes as a form of cash.

However, today Taff appears far more sullen on The Star's website . . . It's most likely the same look he had around shower time or when he was running low on toilet paper.

The Star doesn't explain why they switched out the photos but I'm guessing that there might have been quite a few folks who didn't like the upbeat coverage provided to the former felon.
Personally, I think they should have ran the mug shot . . . Which I've strangely never seen.

Adam Taft is a White greedy crook. He cheated the public and got a slap on the wrist for it. Now, the local media is giving him a pass as well. And while your mileage may very regarding Mr. Washington's comments (I agree with them) it's clear that the complaint isn't the only one heard over at The Star.

wonder why the Star gave him a hand job.
ReplyDeleteHe must be “buddies” (yes homo) with someone on the staff.
Like Alonzo Washington doesn't have enough to do that he needs to comment on an Adam Taff article? Wonder how that helps his inner-city activism.
ReplyDeleteWas Taff railroaded as part of the U.S. Attorney scandal? He kept running for the GOP nomination to a seat coveted by the Justice Department's favorite son, Kris Kobach. Prosecuting him on a "crime" in which no one lost any money took care of that problem.
ReplyDeleteMortgage fraud is a crime, whether you like it or not.
ReplyDeleteThe telling thing about Taff's character is that he continued to run for the seat while under investigation and likely indictment. If he would have unseated Moore, he would've been indicted and forced to leave the House in disgrace.
Kobach didn't do this to Taff. Taff did this to Taff.
As for the over-coverage of Taff's release... Its a PR tour. Taff undoubtably took his story to the press rather than the press chasing him down. He loves the spotlight and is arrogant enough to believe he still has a place in the public's eye.
ReplyDeleteThe ever dapper Alonzo Washington also understands how to feed the press.
ReplyDeleteTaff - I hear Burger King has a fast-track assistant manager program for up and coming ex-cons.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should start there and work your way back up to Republican media whore.
