Basement living is bad for little kids

A story of a 5 year-old girl forced to live in a Midtown couple's basement really struck home with me. It's the kind of tale that makes me count my blessings and realize that I've pretty much got it made in my mom's basement what with dial up Internet access and a few fuzzy cable channels.

Some of us are not so lucky:
Police said four children lived in the family's house in the 3500 block of Locust Street, but only one child was forced to live in the unfinished and unfurnished basement.

Investigators said the child slept in a cardboard box without pillows or blankets, and she used a bucket as a toilet.
The story's very sad actually. This poor, young girl was denied so many things and I'm guessing that her (allegedly) horrible folks didn't even consider encouraging her to write a blog . . . Given that an awesome web presence (like this one) is the primary attribute of most basement dwellers in this town.

  1. But how would you address crime as the mayor?

  2. Most likely Mr. Crime or if it is a woman I use Ms. just to be safe. If crime corrects me then I'll use Miss or Mrs. after.
