Because spying is somewhat easier than convincing people to start snitching



Here is yet another story that illustrates that local authorities haven't made a lot of effort in engendering cooperation in high crime areas: Kansas City police want to spend $4 million to upgrade their patrol car cameras to higher-quality digital equipment. Police in both Kansas City's hope to install cameras in high-crime neighborhoods. And some officers on both forces are being trained in forensic video.

And I guess this is good news because I know that random crime on the street under good lighting conditions is really important to fight against. Also, poor people should know that privacy is overrated and if Paris Hilton doesn't want it, neither should we!
