Normally, I skip good news about this town all together but a recent story about an upcoming convention caught my eye.
Educational Testing Service (ETS) develops and administers the SAT and the Advanced Placement Program for the College Board along with work for other organizations. Yesterday the group made a two-year commitment to book Kansas City's largest convention.
During that time ETS will use virtually every hotel room in Downtown and Crown Center. The event projects to book 32,755 room nights in 2008 and 34,995 room nights in 2009. ETS also has tentatively reserved space in Kansas City through 2014, Hughes said.As culturally biased as I think the work of this organization is . . . It's good news that at least KC will benefit from keeping po'folk and minorities out of college. I'd also like to note that this major victory for Kansas City comes without a downtown arena, without decent roads and without much to do downtown after 5p.m. This shouldn't be interpreted as a victory by any number of the politicos who would like to take credit for it but a statement of how gully KC really is and how much this down has to offer OTHER THAN high priced pork items pushed through by local politicos.
Professors and other educators will come to Kansas City to score standardized college and graduate admissions entrance tests.
Tony you must be a complete MORON to not understand how important this event is to Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteThis means over 30,000 middle age english teachers will be away from home and spending the night here in the big city.
You know what that means Tony! prime milf hunting!
