IT'S ALL ABOUT TIMING

In the latest news that should convince you not to re-elect anyone who is currently on the City Council (or anywhere in the vicinity) please note that, according to The Star, after voting to restore the old plea agreement system in Municipal Court, John Fairfield Kansas City Councilman asked how much defense attorneys were contributing to his mayoral campaign mere hours later.

This means exactly what you think. Which means that once again it has been proven that politics, politicians and so many other public officials in KC have always been and will always be FOR SALE.

Here's (some of) the damage:
Laws, a local attorney, said that he had set up a fundraiser for Fairfield at least three months before the defective-equipment vote and its timing wasn't connected.

Missouri law prohibits candidates from voting or acting officially in return for a campaign contribution. Elizabeth Ziegler, general counsel for the Missouri Ethics Commission, declined to comment on whether Fairfield's solicitation might violate state law.
So here's hoping the KC Voters might decide that one of our elected representatives might get dooced over their Internet activity. It would be a refreshing change from simply cubicle workers getting canned over the Net.

Also, most lawyers in this town are scum as well but you knew that a long time ago.

  1. Tony, can you change the font you are using in your post titles? It looks like you're using Impact, which I have on my machine, but it's just really hard to read.
