Trent Green will never be the same again

I know that sports reporting in this town basically means that you take PR copy from the corporate head office (no homo?) and squirt it back in the face of local fans (ewww) but there is very little honest discussion about the future of Trent Green.

The guy's career is over and it's sad and a bit dangerous that nobody is advising him to simply hang it up. This story almost writes itself. The next major hit the guy takes is going to end his career and all this encouragement about his return is more dangerous than anything else. Already, they're being way too cautious with the guy and the reticence is really just showing how weak the poor old man is . . . There is no old timer's day in football and if sports writers in this town had more guts (radio is actually pretty honest about this) , they (sportswriters) would leave a note to Trent that he needs to hang it up.
