I have no idea what kind of dirtbag would rob a church but it seriously takes some convictions about the nature of karma, Heaven/Hell and common human decency to pull something like that.
I vaguely know the guy who was robbed in this story and he seems like a decent enough person and totally doesn't deserve this kind of thing.
And I while I have my problems with the Church I've never thought of stealing from it. It seems like the stuff the church takes . . . Innocence, faith in humanity, trust and a clean conscience can't ever be taken back.
But I'm guessing that all these scumbags wanted is money and they have yet to figure out that telling people that God needs them to had over their cash is far more effective than resorting to crime.
In a unrelated note, in Kenya, there was a man who stole from a church and in his escape, was hit by an 18-wheeler. The people in the church who witnessed this thought it was the wrath of God to punish such an evildoer.
