Seriously, this post is probably the best thing that Mark Forsythe has ever written on his blog and its contents WILL have an impact on Kansas City in only a couple of short months.
I know that so many people don't follow city budgets and or care about infrastructure but this stuff will make a difference when you understand the following . . . Years of 18th and Vine mismanagement are the reason that you'll be stuck in the snow come this winter. Forsythe explains it more succinctly than I can:
Yesterday the City Council approved an emergency measure to settle with Rick Gill for $3 million. That amount pretty much wiped out our contingency funds for snow removal this season so you can thank the 18th & Vine Gang this January when you're hopelessly stuck in a snow drift.It's not like I need one, but this is yet another reason why I hate jazz other than the fact that it sounds like cats having angry sex.
