Cause and effect

I know that a recent random crime on Ward Parkway caught your attention.

Historically, it's nicest/richest street in KC proper and whenever they don't provide a description of the perpetrators most people usually speculate that it was (or hope that it wasn't) a Black guy. So I'm sure that doesn't bode well for the slightly less ritzy southern tip (no homo) of Ward Parkway.

Anyway, random crime always scares people. I don't know if I'd call it completely random though . . . If I had to rob somebody, I'd probably head in that direction just because I know people might have a little more money . . . However, if I really wanted to steal hand over fist I think a much more lucrative option would be to start a company that helped to "reconstruct" Iraq.

But I digress.

The point here is that the prospect of having a gun pointed at your head by some random jerk is scary. That's why I'm glad that the police are promising more patrols. I'm sure that handing out more speeding tickets or a bunch of DUI checkpoints will completely alleviate the threat of crime increasing and spreading throughout Kansas City. On the bright side, you can always count on white people to "start snitching" on everyone but white collar criminals.
