If the Bush years have taught us anything it's that
Local loud mouth activist Alonzo Washington has some pretty insightful remarks about the former KCK good ole boy (If possible read the following passage with a violin solo playing in the background):
Alonzo Washington, a community activist in Kansas City, called Topeka's new chief "evasive" and said that when Miller led the KCKPD, he was more interested in protecting the area around the new speedway than protecting the lower-income areas.Thing is, there might be hope because people always leave KC and go on to greater things. Think Walt Disney and all his kick ass work as a Nazi sympathizer or Neil Smith holding John Elway's umbrella. So I wish the guy luck and hope the does a better job in the State's Capital than he ever did in the KC metro area.
"He certainly didn't go the extra mile to reach out to the high-crime areas," Washington said. "In terms of being an innovator or someone to bring together the community, I certainly didn't see it."
* To be fair, I should note all of the recruitment that KCKPD is currently doing in the Latino Community in an effort to find some incompetent Latinos who also pay little attention to high crime areas for a change.
