Either the glass is half empty or half full. Your wife/husband is either a ball and chain or the only person who might consider wiping your butt for no pay if you are ever incapacitated. I can't say that I'm an optimist and I'm not really a fan of the new additions to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art but the aerial photos of the project provided by local blog 'Three O'Clock in the Morning' are amazing.
In my stupid opinion, they look like a bunch of parking garages put next a really cool building . . . You know, like those pre-fab garages that country folk use to molest dumb kids and animals or store their supplies for the Rapture.
Anyway, the pics are amazing as they reveal an interesting perspective of the Nelson and midtown KC, if you look real closely you can see a few people from the East side walking toward the Plaza in search of someone to mug.
Dude, that's exactly what it looks like only with a much less efficient use of space.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what you just posted about and don't care, Im still stuck on that picture . . .
ReplyDeleteIT looks like a tin shed on some of the mid missouri farms. The architect screwed KC and the only recourse offered is to say that it looks great from inside. Of course we should al remember that the "art" on the inside is why we build a museum, but it would have been nice to know that some of the grandure and class A attitudes of yesteryear still existed in KC. We are worried about being major league in sports and we con each other into believing that the addition to the Nelson is "beautiful" etc. The design was great the finished product is cow town bush league.
ReplyDeleteYep... they've created a monstrosity and justify it with excuses like "the inside looks great", or "it looks ok at night, when it's closed" or "it looks fantastic from 10,000 feet in the air!"
