If Grain Valley voters approve a 'no-tax' bond issue, 60 residents of a nearby trailer park will be forced to find somewhere else to do their meth.
About $1.2 million of the bond proceeds would be slated for the acquisition and construction of a stormwater retention pond on the site of the Spring Creek Valley trailer park, 719 R.D. Mize Road. The site is the focus of a condemnation hearing in Jackson County Circuit Court after the city was unable to reach a buyout agreement with the trailer park's owner, Barbara Lee. At least 60 residents will be displaced by the condemnation.
