Unfortunately, Gov. Blunt is worse than a dead beat dad when it comes to paying for Missouri's developmentally challenged kids.
Once again, Blunt is out to undercut the children who most need Missouri's help.
The state has spent more than $900,000 and seven years overhauling the First Steps program for developmentally disabled children, which Gov. Matt Blunt is now proposing to overhaul again.
Some First Step parents and providers are expressing concern about whether Blunt and lawmakers are rushing to put a new First Steps plan in place that could undermine recent changes.
For a guy who has obviously had so much help as a kid, it's strange that Gov. Blunt doesn't have more compassion for local kids in need and can't find some other place else to trim the State's budget.
Anyone else think it's time to raise taxes a little bit? Otherwise we get what we pay for. When a family or a business has cash flow problems the first thing they do is tighten the belt. We did that when Gov. Holden cut $1.5 billion from the state budget over his four years in office. There ain't no fat to cut, just the muscle and bone.
ReplyDeleteThe next thing a family or business does is go out and get more revenue, either by taking on a second or third job, or raising prices on it's products. In the case of government, that means more taxes.
