SACRILEGE!!! BOULEVARD BREWERY BEER GARDEN DEBATE THREATENS TO DESTROY KANSAS CITY WESTSIDE CHURCH!!!
Great news for Kansas City's favorite local brewery could soon rip apart an urban core faith community.
To wit . . .
TODAY AT SACRED HEART WESTSIDE CHURCH PARISHIONERS DEBATED THE FUTURE OF THEIR CONGREGATION AMID THE COMING OF AN EPIC BOULEVARD BEER GARDEN!!!
Just a bit of context . . .

The Boulevard Brewery expansion is inevitable as the tourist attraction earns 60k visitors every year and they are expanding their welcome center and the second floor into a 10,000 square foot beer garden.
There is no unanimity on the issue and a strange debate amid the Westside Catholic Mass today reached a boiling point. Here's an overview of the concerns . . .
- Many parishioners welcome cooperation from Boulevard after promises to spare some church parking and provide a privacy fence.
- Other neighborhood denizens want to fight the encroachment and rally against the PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE CHANGE in a residential neighborhood.
- The more practical among the faithful realize that there would be little support for their fight among Council and City Hall who stand firmly in the corner of what could be Kansas City's favorite biz. These denizens realize Church will most likely just have to live with more party-goers on Friday and Saturday nights.
Point of fact here, the Church doesn't even own their parking lot and the real debate here is about re-zoning impact on longstanding neighbors.
However, all of this raises an critical Sunday question . . .
DO YOU SIDE WITH BOULEVARD BREWERY AND MORE KANSAS CITY BOOZING OR A WORKING-CLASS NEIGHBORHOOD AND ITS CHURCH BATTLING AGAINST CORPORATE ENCROACHMENT READILY SANCTIONED BY CITY HALL???
This question of allegiances and affiliation says a lot more about the overall direction of Kansas City than any talk of building codes.
Developing . . .
Kansas City loves its beer. No doubt about it.
ReplyDeleteBlvd. is big enough. If they want to do the right thing, they'll build an expansion site in JoCo. That would really attract a bigger crowd.
DeletePeople like the beer but not everybody wants to hang out at a brewery. Maybe there can be a better compromise?
DeleteLove boulevard beer but I have to side with the neighborhood on this one
ReplyDeleteOutdoor beer gardens can be very compatible with residential areas. They likely just have to serve the last beer at 10pm.
ReplyDeleteFuck Boulevard. Have some decency, everything doesn't come down to money.
ReplyDeleteIt does with Shittyhall
DeleteLots of women will be going to the beer garden looking to get fucked. I'm thinking it might be ok to get the beer garden up and running. It's better than fucking the tattooed whores at Westport every weekend.
ReplyDeleteI favor bulldozing the entire complex and the church. More room for the streetcar.
ReplyDeleteThe Kansas City Atheist Coalition is probably looking intently at this matter.
ReplyDelete^^^ you are an idiot. Stop being a spammer and go look for a better religion.
DeleteMoney Is Your God
ReplyDelete^^^^ +1
DeleteI see the Kansas City Atheshit Coalition is out in force.
ReplyDelete8:50 pm,,,shut up.
ReplyDeleteYou have nothing we want to hear.
Don't worry the blacks will ruin it and take all the trashy white women! Lol!
ReplyDeleteBlacks don't drink Boulevard.
ReplyDeleteSly doesn't give a shit about neighborhoods!! As soon as he's out of office, he'll be moving to Leawood, on Burns & Mac!!!
ReplyDeleteOne Bourbon One Scotch,One Boulevard Beer.
ReplyDeleteAtheists usually a cocksucking faggots that wear glasses. They usually are not man enough to drink in a bar, because they can't fight very good.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Boulevard itself sell out to the European overlords?
ReplyDeleteAnd I mean Duvel, not the Vatican.
^^^ Now THAT is comedy my friend.
ReplyDeleteHow much is the tax abatement??
ReplyDeleteThe church must understand business rules-churches drool. If the church doesn't like it, they can always pay taxes!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the church isn't surviving because churches come from the Bourgeois.
ReplyDeleteNothing that a little (or lot) of money can't buy.
ReplyDelete10:47 pm...True Dat!
ReplyDeleteAnd their women are fat and ugly.
And polyamorous.
If you go to a meeting to hook up, be sure to double bag it!!!
