BREAKING!!! SURVIVE THE KANSAS CITY AUGUST 2017 FLASH FLOOD PLAYLIST!!!

Brief contemplation of the Kansas City rain FLOOD tonight . . . Nothing too deep because all of the fun people are doing more interesting things than reading blogs tonight . . . Many folks are simply treading water and trying to survive.

However, this evening's repeated deluge that could cause flooding brings to mind a few things . . .

Kansas City corporations make it rain at the cost of taxpayers with nothing more than hype, sketches and easily purchased local government cooperation. The rain is, thankfully, washing the blood from local streets as our murder count still stand 40% above last year. Finally, as always, even light rain highlights our backed up and neglected water infrastructure which needs BILLIONS in repair and remains the root cause of so much flooding that puts residents at risk.

LINKS FOR TONIGHT AS FLASH FLOODING TAKES HOLD ACROSS THE METRO:

Torrential rains hit Kansas City Saturday night

Flash flood warnings issued as storms move across Kansas City area

Flash Flood Watch today through Sunday morning

5 inches of rain fell in the past 3 hours at I-35 & Johnson Dr. SB lanes of I-35 now closed

Good advice tonight from the KCFD Chief:

And so we invite our blog community to LOOK FOR HIGHER GROUND and share their rainy night thoughts as we offer a quick playlist filled with some of our favorite songs about the rain:

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.

Sly, I want my sewers fixed. Forget Mike's hotel.

At least you weren't so stoned that you'd pick "Rainy Days and Mondays" and "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head".

Brookside is going to get it's sewers fixed as soon as sly has his enema and all that go bond money is flushed out of his butt.

Ahh, meanwhile, no rain can rival the downpour of Tony Botello's sad, bitter tears.
