TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY TAX FIGHTERS OFFER $5K REWARD FOR DOWNTOWN CONVENTION HOTEL TERM SHEET WITNESSES!!!

Most of the financial deets regarding the proposed Kansas City Downtown Convention Hotel have been kept secret and now a local group hopes to break the code of silence.

Never mind that voters have been excluded from any decision on the project thanks to recent "accelerated" vote by most of the elected officials at City Hall.

To wit . . .

CHECK THIS EPIC $5K REWARD FOR A SWORN STATEMENT ABOUT THE SKETCHY DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY CONVENTION HOTEL!!!

Here's the bounty notice . . .

Easy to read terms . . .

Citizens For Responsible Government is offering a $5000 reward to anyone who can name the "Certain Public Officials" who viewed the downtown convention hotel "term sheet" . {"While the hotel's development team does have a working version of a term sheet, and has discussed its contents with certain public officials, that document is not a public record as it has not been retained by the City."} Brian t. Rabineau, Asst. City Atty.

Individuals must be willing to provide a sworn affidavit of their statement and provide the names of the individuals they now who saw the term sheet!
#######

And so . . . The fight to get information out of City Hall regarding this project continues despite the fact that $35 MILLION worth of General Fund financing along with a bevy of tax breaks and subsidies have been secured without much oversight, checks or balances.

Not one single vote on this.

And the total really approaching $200 million when everything is counted.

If it was so profitable. Maybe the company would build it themselves.

I was talking with Super Dave earlier and we both questioned if the citizens of Kansas City could sue the city government for their underhand and probably illegal practices?

Anybody know if this is possible?

I wish someone would start hacking kcmo gov e-mails and mike burke, what truth we would learn. This is going to be just like the mortgage scam of 2008. All the people with power knew this was scam to take advantage of citizens.

I keep remembering that there are 150 dormant rooms at the Muehlebach and yet this hotel is urgent.

Good thing the E-Tax and $800 million dollar GO-Bond votes passed. Otherwise we'd never be able donate all this money to Loews, Mike Burke and all.

Meanwhile we get to drive over pothole filled roads and non-existent and heavily damaged sidewalks.

See how great our city leaders are!

How about $5000 to show CFRG is a front for Patrick Touhey?

Of course it's urgent, David. Mike Burke and his gang run the risk that the next mayor is a little more clever than Hizonor and might not be so easily played.
