In fairness to both sides, our blog community was FIRST to preview the petition and demands of animal rights protesters after a Saturday night carriage flip caused injury and ejected a passenger.
So far, almost 15k people have signed the effort to encourage Mayor and Council to ban Plaza carriage rides. But no citation will be issued after the accident this weekend.

Here is the counter petition that has a few supporters but nowhere near as many animal rights activists:

Interestingly, even in the face of increasing violent mob chaos, the teams continue to happily do their jobs with grace & calm 99.9% of the time. We could take a lesson from the work horse playbook… Demand better behavior FROM THE HUMANS who run wild across the Plaza and clog the streets with chaos and hysterics, and we all will be better off.

The statement posted by TKC is accurate as far as I know, horses, like dogs, like to interact and work. My father had horses and they loved to be useful and active.
Thug pieces of shit, on the other hand, love entropy, violence and will only retreat in the face of superior fire power.

The filth on the Plaza, are supposed to be 20 to 40 points higher.

It is NOT racist to NOTICE that blacks are inundating the Plaza with violence, dysfunction and destruction. There are not just a few anecdotal incidents, but, in fact, incessant local news reports, which include, a couple of years ago, the fuckin Mayor, having to take evasive action and dive into the bushes in front of the Cheesecake Factory while dodging gunfire, that, in fact, wounded 2 people.
Blacks ARE the culprits on the Plaza, black mobs ARE ruining yet another neighborhood, another shopping area, as, they have been doing for the last three decades.
Black violence and dysfunction in cities all over America, ARE, no matter what you say, even if you say it while you click your Ruby Slippers together the vehicle of destruction in those same cities. This in turn, leads to the destruction of the tax base, the education system, the housing market and myriad other variables that are the hallmarks of successful cities.
The Plaza is diminished as is this city, as it's Crown Jewel is being attacked. Politically Correct solutions to this problem, are, as doomed to fail here, as they have already failed in many other cities.

Did you read the post, this complaint is against protesters too and they are all white.
Overall, there are far more white people in jail than blacks.
The racism is just unproductive and keeps us from talking about the real issues, in this story it's that the horses need to stay on the farm where the conditions are more favorable to them.

7:07 this summer when it gets nice out I invite you to grab yourself an outdoor table at Cheesecake Factory or Classic Cup in the evening and just wait for "teens" to show up so you can see for yourself. Find one, just one news article about somebody being attacked on the Plaza by a white person. Just last week and white guy at the bus stop was beaten by at least six "teens." Remember the serviceman from Ft. Leavenworth almost to death by at least two black guys? UMKC student beaten by at least 10 black guys at Winsteads a few months back? List goes on and on. So find us that one article to prove your point. Good luck. Oh, and if you do go see for yourself at one of those restaurants, for the love of God, TIP the poor server that has to wait on you at least 25%. Lord knows black people are terrible about that too.
