There the found two women in their vehicle apparently to leave the entertainment area when they were shot.
A vehicle pulled up beside the women in their car, opened fire and sped off.

ReplyDeleteI know that some don't agree but Westport was experiencing a turnaround in 2014. The new upscale restaurants were taking the city by storm and had earned national acclaim.
ReplyDeleteThe shut down of the hip-hop club offered a brief respite in the violence this district has endured since the early 90s.
But the year or two of peace didn't last.
The gang members and low level drug dealers are back in full force and there's no sign of them leaving any time soon. That gunfire incident that hit 6 people in September has caused a lot of second guesses about the area. Now the arrival of the streetcar extension a couple of blocks away is supposed to make things better according to some.
What we're seeing here is a full scale implosion of Midtown and there is nobody addressing the concerns of neighbors or business in this area. As far as the mayor and the council are concerned, if it doesn't happen downtown or in the crossroads, they don't care.

I've family and friends in licensed contracting of new constructions and renovations who are very busy. The bulk of projects are still custom builds to the high income earners/heirs for luxury features. More middle-markets owners are also going for updated kitchens, home theaters, wine cellars, hobby rooms, mancaves, sports/spa features, etc., albeit mostly scaled down compared to the custom (translation: millionaire) market, and each area added in stages for some owners.
The DIYers of the mega-moneyed (there are a few--really!), middle, and modest households are busy also. See those full lots at IKEA, Lowe's, Home Depot, and such?
