Cowtown Real Estate Real Talk: Would You Live In Kansas City East Crossroads???

Here's one of our formerly favorite Kansas City newsies writing about an ambitious development dream from the Mayor Sly hoping that overwhelming tax subsidy will somehow extend closer to the struggling 18th and Vine district.

And so . . . Here's a simple question . . .

WOULD YOU CHOOSE THE EAST CROSSROADS LUXURY LIFE OVER OTHER PARTS OF KANSAS CITY???

The answer is worth hundreds of millions of dollars worth of incentives and the strange fantasy that the creative class can be used to lure millennial residents who still overwhelmingly choose the suburbs.

You decide . . . Downtown housing boom marches on with East Crossroads apartment plan

  3. Why do they even bother making these developers go through the motions of a hearing before whatever bullshit, rubber stamp committee to try to give the appearance that this is all on the up and up..............just go ahead and give them the money.

  6. Move them out. That new ball park isn't for urban kiddies....not that color. Green. Is king. White is right. Brown stick around. Yellow is mellow. Black....get back. Go South. Gentrification on the low low and in your face. Price you out. Way out.

  7. First off I would not live anywhere that there is not a publicly available coon count. Second the fact that it is inside the city limits of KC would require a list of convicted felons who have already applied. I'll stay out here in the county where we still shoot thugs and intruders instead of making them role models and heroes.
